Bollworm is a major insect pest of cotton which

can cause losses to farmers. The young insect looks like a grub and is about the size of a match stick. It attacks and feeds on the inside of buds, owers and bolls. The grub has two lines on its back running from its head to its tail.

Whiteflies

feed on the underside of leaves and are often confused with aphids. Both adult and nymph whiteflies feed by sucking plant juices out of the foliage. Large populations or heavy feeding by whitefly can give plants a mottled look, cause yellowing and eventually death to the host plant. 5

Stem borers can destroy rice at any stage of the plant from seedling to maturity. They feed upon tillers and causes deadhearts or drying of the central tiller, during vegetative stage; and causes whiteheads at reproductive stage.
