Technical Isoprothiolane Isoprothiolane is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative action, absorbed by the leaves and roots, with translocation acropetally and basipetally. Isoprothiolane belongs to the family of dicarboxylic acids and derivatives, organic compounds containing two carboxylic acid groups, which act by inhibition of phospholipid biosynthesis. It’s used to control rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) It is a phospholipid biosynthesis inhibitor (methyltransferase).

Environmental toxicity: Isoprothiolane inhibits penetration and elongation of infection hyphae, by inhibiting formation of infection peg or cellulose secretion. It is moderately toxic for birds. Isoprothiolane is highly toxic for fishes like Rainbow trout and Carp.
