NMC Students Trip Summer 2023

It was very exciting to be part of NMC Student's first mission trip to Guatemala. This team was made up of 9-12th grade students and a few leaders. From the moment the team and I met at the airport, I knew it would be a week we would never forget, and the more we got to know each other, we knew it would be harder to say goodbye at the end of the week.

Each trip is different, but this one was wonderful. It was extra special for the children in Xecotoj, one of the villages where CDR serves. Compared to the other villages we serve, Xecotoj was the village the team visited the most and where we were able to spend the most time with the children.

At the beginning of the trip, we had a sports day where we played soccer, basketball, and other games. We had such a great time that we decided to return to Xecotoj for an additional day, and it was incredible. With the team, we formed two groups with a translator in each one, and we went from house to house throughout the community knocking door to door to pray for the families that live there. It was very encouraging to see the high school students being brave and confident to pray in public for the prayer requests that people shared with us.
