OCSA Yearlong Performance Program 23-24

Page 1

Dear Friends and Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 performance season at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA)!

I am honored to have the pleasure of introducing this year’s extraordinary lineup of performances and events, which our students, faculty, and staff have worked incredibly hard to present to you. Each of these productions is undoubtedly a team effort, with many individuals devoting their time and talents, both on the stage and behind the scenes. This collaborative process is the perfect example of our overarching theme for this school year, A Culture of Community.

As author and inspirational speaker Simon Sinek once said, “A culture is strong when people work with each other, for each other. A culture is weak when people work against each other, for themselves.” At OCSA, while we encourage students and staff to grow into the best versions of themselves, we recognize that this growth is only possible if we work together as a community. A culture of excellence and innovation can only be achieved if supported by a culture of helpfulness and dependable relationships. Which is why I look to each of you, regardless of your role at OCSA, to join me in this culture of community. Together, we are stronger and better equipped to be the best we can be for ourselves, for our students, for our parents, for our teachers, for our peers, and for our larger community.

At this time, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our 2023-2024 corporate season sponsors, Pendry Newport Beach, Farmers & Merchants Bank, and Boot Barn, as well as to our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, Emeritus Board, Strategic and Educational Partners, President’s Circle, and Encore members. Their continued support, leadership, and vision help shape our community each and every day.

Finally, I must acknowledge our parents, alumni, administrators, faculty and staff members of the local community, and most importantly, our talented student artists Our students are the true foundation of our culture of community, providing the inspiration behind all that we do.

It is an immense privilege to be a part of the OCSA community with you. Now, I invite you to please enjoy this year’s spectacular performance season!

With gratitude,

We provide an unparalleled arts and academic education in a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment to a diverse group of students who are passionate about the arts, preparing them to reach their highest potential.

Established in 1987, the nationally recognized Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) offers a dynamic school culture that enables students to flourish as artists and scholars. The school currently serves a diverse student body of nearly 2,300 students in grades 7-12 from more than 100 cities throughout Southern California.

In addition to offering a challenging college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars, OCSA provides aspiring young artists with the opportunity to refine their skills and flourish in one of 17 arts conservatories. Each year, more than 200 concerts, recitals, staged performances, and exhibitions are presented at a variety of venues in Orange County and throughout the world, providing students with the unique experience of entertaining and inspiring thousands of audience members.

OCSA is a donation-dependent public charter school; no student is offered or denied admission based on financial capacity. The school’s rigorous academic education coupled with advanced arts training has impacted many students, molding generations of creative thinkers, leaders, artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

OPPORTUNITIES TO INSPIRE, IMPACT, AND INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTIST-SCHOLARS

HEARTS FOR THE ARTS CAMPAIGN

This annual campaign provides additional support for arts conservatory needs beyond each conservatory’s annual budget. A Hearts for the Arts donation will help to fund special equipment and supplies, performances and eld trips, and arts enrichment opportunities for our talented students.

ARTIST SCHOLAR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

This annual program supports economically disadvantaged students who attend OCSA. Donations not only help to fund the arts conservatory portion of their school day, but also make certain they have access to the full OCSA experience, including yearbooks, technology, and school supplies.

MASTER ARTIST SERIES

This annual program supports high-pro le visiting artists who create meaningful and often life-changing experiences for our student artists. An important instructional strategy at OCSA is to bring master artists and industry leaders to share their gifts, career stories, and expertise with students through residencies, master classes, lectures, and performances.

READY TO GET INVOLVED?

To learn more about these important campaigns or give today, please visit www.ocsarts.net/Give .

We would love to talk with you about how you can support OCSA’s talented students!
