ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS FOUNDATION

Proudly Presents

WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2023

Segerstrom Center for the Arts

We provide an unparalleled arts and academic education in a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment to a diverse group of students who are passionate about the arts, preparing them to reach their highest potential.

Established in 1987, the nationally recognized Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) offers a dynamic school culture that enables students to flourish as artists and scholars. The school currently serves a diverse student body of nearly 2,300 students in grades 7-12 from more than 100 cities throughout Southern California.

In addition to offering a challenging college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars, OCSA provides aspiring young artists with the opportunity to refine their skills and flourish in one of 17 arts conservatories. Each year, more than 200 concerts, recitals, staged performances, and exhibitions are presented at a variety of venues in Orange County and throughout the world, providing students with the unique experience of entertaining and inspiring thousands of audience members.

OCSA is a donation-dependent public charter school; no student is offered or denied admission based on financial capacity. The school’s rigorous academic education coupled with advanced arts training has impacted many students, molding generations of creative thinkers, leaders, artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

RANKED #1 BEST CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL IN CALIFORNIA Niche, 2023

Dear Friends and Families,

It is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome you all to Season Finale 2023, presented by the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Foundation!

As another extraordinary season comes to a close, I am truly in awe of all that the OCSA community has accomplished this past year. In the annual Niche rankings, OCSA was named the #1 Best Charter High School in California for the fourth year in a row, as well as the #6 Best Charter High School in America! These schoolwide accolades have been accompanied by hundreds of individual accomplishments by our incredible students and faculty members. From awards and competitions to performances and showcases, our OCSA family continues to go above and beyond, proving to the wider community and to the world just how brightly they shine.

While I am so proud of these recognitions, what really moves me is witnessing firsthand the impact that OCSA has on its students. I see it when I visit the classrooms on a typical Tuesday and hear new and exciting ideas being thrown around; I see it when I return to the podium to guest conduct the Symphony Orchestra and observe the focus and dedication in students’ eyes; and I see it when I sit in the audience at a unique and collaborative cross-conservatory performance that showcases the bright future of the arts. Our students are the reason I come to work invigorated every day and why everyone associated with OCSA finds it so easy to be passionate about what this school can achieve.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to our 2022-2023 Season Sponsors: Farmers & Merchants Bank, McKenna Subaru, and Boot Barn, as well as to our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, Emeritus Board, President’s Circle, Encore, and PSO members. Their continued support, leadership, and vision help to shape the lives of our students each and every day.

Finally, I must acknowledge our parents, alumni, administrators, faculty and staff, members of the local community, and most importantly, our talented and inspiring student artists. I am especially excited to welcome our newest group of students, who are just beginning their OCSA journey and will be joining us for the 2023-2024 school year in the fall.

Now, it’s time to marvel at tonight’s outstanding lineup of performances from each of our conservatories. Please enjoy all of the magic OCSA has to offer!

All the best,

We are so very proud of everything you have accomplished and can't wait to see what is in store for each and every one of you!

YOUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT

WELCOME TO

We hope you enjoy this dynamic showcase celebrating the culmination of the school year and featuring spectacular performances and presentations by the talented student artists of all 17 OCSA arts conservatories.
