Eric Joyner resurrected the world of old-time sci-fi robots with lot of donuts or donuts with lot of robots in oil. The Iron mechanisms mostly leave with cream, dough and sugar powder. Robots who don’t eat tasty donuts look like they live good life, good life with each another in different way through the space. As the renaissance period artist who has painted what was classical for him on oil, Eric Joyner paints nowadays for us in icons. The robots are from the classic period of 1950’s including American popular donuts, which create a new space from reality.

can you introduce yourself? My name is eric joyner. I live in San Francisco, CA U.S.A. how did you become an artist and what was the first influence? I was always drawing as long as I can remember. It just seemed like a fun thing to do. My influence was Vincent Van Gogh. why robots? I collect tin toy robots...I like the was they look....I like bringing them to life. Human models are too expensive. why donats? I only paint things that I like. Donuts are one of my favorite things.

today, what is your strongest inspiration? My strongest inspiration today is the human condition, life on Earth. what do you need for your working condition? I need a warm room, paints, brushes, chair, easle and tin robots. What the work doesn’t go what do you do? I couldn’t paint, I’d probably be a mover or a baker. where do you find your ideas for a project? I find my ideas in unusual situations we humans sometimes find ourselves in. Also Nature. if you had a resurection power, who would u like to resurrect? I would resurrect Jesus.

can you introduce yourself? I am Jan Maarten Voskuil. I live and work in Haarlem The Netherlands how you did become an artist and what was your first influence? After studying Arts and Management at the University of Groningen I did not became an artist immediately. I first worked three years, first at an auction house (Christie’s Amsterdam) and after this as an Art Consultant for companies. In 1993 I resigned and started as a visual artist. Being disappointed in Modernist practice I started painting in a more or less traditional and naturalistic way. I was obsest by the light as used by the painters of The Hague school in the 19th century and the possibilities Chiaroscuro. Around 1997, during my post-graduate course at the Art Academy of Arnheim, The Netherlands I experienced how figurative, self centred art brought me into a dead end and reconciliated myself slowly with the Modernist heritage.

today, what is your strongest inspiration? I think my works are mainly concepts about painting. They arise from the frustration about the impossibilities and shortcomings of art in general and specificly painting. So unless frustration and shortcommings can be a source of inspiration, I would call myself not being inspired by anything but driven in general. I’m aiming at art to be inspirational or alive rather than a reflection of inspiration. where do you find your ideas for a project? In bath, in bed, thinking over things I allways seek ways out of artistic problems. Define a problem, solve it and you have a new work. The problems can be both on the level of a work, a range of works or on curatorial ideas about exhibitions with other artists involved. Artistic problems can be the specificnes of a space, the art historical context or just the solution for a constructive problem. The series There Is No Point In..., enabled me to use color after a period of only using white for color is so narrative. The circles define the wideness of the work. So the work depict itself and in with the title I could abandone further narration and use color without any reference.

how you did become an artist and what was your first influence? ...It’s not like I turned 12 and realized I had good art skills and then decided to pursue art. It was more like, as far back as I can remember I always was analyzing my surroundings and then creating things as a response to what I saw and experienced. of curs when you’re young the subject matter and the things created are very simple and not considered art, but when you get older that whole process begins to evolve and mature. I think it’s this behavior that then organically lead me down the art/design path. It’s just something I love to do and need to do to be happy and feel grounded...So I can’t give you a date when I became an artist. My influence was my surroundings and then when I got into developing my technical skills I was first inspired by Salvador Dali and my art mentor Juri Borodachev who thought me all the basics as well as opened up my mind to art.

today, what is your strongest inspiration? at this point all things that can’t be controlled but can be influenced. That relationship interests me. That’s what my painting are about. Other things that get me going are: Guns ‘n’ Roses Use your Illusion I and II. I have those 2 cassette tapes at my studio and listen to them when I paint...Its just sooo good...now and then some classical music and all the good hippie shit. My favorite artists to date are Belgian artist Bram Bogart and the later painting works by Alberto Giacometti.

where do you find your ideas for a project? The ideas are a response to the initial inspiration which again comes from my surroundings an my experiences and what I think and feel about them. Almost anything can trigger an idea and sometimes I paint about it and sometimes I design about it. For the style of painting that I’ve been developing for the last 2 years now the idea was to somehow try to capture a balanced relationship between the controllable and uncontrollable. For every intentional mark, there is a free-falling drip, challenging it. Developing this style came from me feeling of life itself being a balance between control and chaos. The idea was to try to visually represent that.

have you got other current projects? Yes! A big one....My design partner Daniel Licalzi and I founded “design since, inc.” in 2009. We just launched our website this week!! design since, inc. is an interdisciplinary design studio located in Brooklyn, New York. We are producing some of our own designs, like the “Measuring Light” that is going to be launched in May during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, as well as offering design services to clients. Our values are based on understanding the relationship between the user, the product, and the environment. INTRO While browsing through the live schedules of the clubs in Camden Town, London one name struck me and all of a sudden all the power of 90’s came back to me and I knew I had to talk with them. This band is (hed) PE or as they were known (hed) Planet Earth. I emailed the management and to my surprise they agreed on talking with me for our small magazine. On the day of the gig, I arrived to the club thinking I will get just a few minutes to talk to Jahred, somewhere at the back room of the venue, but when the manager named Toad came up to me, he said that the interview will take place in the (hed) PE tour bus parked at the back of the venue. I was honestly quite nervous about the whole thing. It is not every day that you get the 90’s resurrected right in front of you, especially your youth heroes rising from ashes like phoenix. While I was standing in front of the closed doors of the tour bus, I was imagining Brazialian-American dude, full of piercings and tattoos with dreadlocks reaching his waist, wasted high and teasing a tit of an under-aged groupie (or groupies?). But when the doors opened and I nervously climbed up the stairs, I saw and middle age gentlemen in a black ski hat sitting at the bus table and eating salad, sandwich and drinking juice. He seemed to be pleased to meet me and talk about whatever I had on my mind.

WE ARE SWEET - So few years back it was 80’s fashion coming back and now it is like 90’s… Jahred Gomes - Oh, I hope not! HAHAHAHA was – Whatever you say, it really does. J – What do you call the 90’s fashion then? was- I don’t know, you started in 90’s! J- Yeah, you know I am not bringing back the 90’s. I don’t have any affinity for the 90’s; I’m trying to move forward in my trajectory. Our sound is nothing like the 90’s and I don’t dress like the 90’s. In the 90’s I used to wear really big pants, now I am more into functionality in my clothes. In the 90’s I had dreads up to here (showing at his waist) and now I shaved my head. The music was really experimental in the 90’s sounding like wueauyoihhhh, but now it is just straight ahead jin jin jin jin. In the 90’s I was singing about drugs and girls mostly and now I get a little bit social, the message is more focused and more important to me. WAS – How did you come up with your make up? Why did you start doing the make up in the first place? J – Well, you know even back in the days, back in 90’s, I used to do the tribal make up or whatever. I always messed around. One time I was wearing Marilyn Manson kind of make up in like 2000 or whatever. So I’ve always gone back and forth between make up and no make or whatever. But lately for the last couple of years I’ve been definitely painting my face and it is more of a way for me to get into the character. It’s fun for sure! It’s fun for me. That would be the first reason I do it cause it’s fun. I enjoy the theatricality of it. You know, as far as the type of band we are, it’s not like we’re gonna wear make up forever like Kiss or something! Ahhahahaahhaa It is just a cycle we are in.

WAS – Okay, as long as we’re talking about fun, let’s make the interview more fun. Let’s talk about zombies. J – Zombies??? WAS - What would you do if there was a zombie apocalypse? J – Well, I would get a really big machete, couple of very sharp machetes in fact. WAS – Like in Grindhouse? J – Oh yeah! Cause the only way to stop a zombie is to cut his head off. I think I would do all right! I would put a lot of padding on so I wouldn’t get bitten. Just get all Mad Max style! Hahahahahah WAS - Will you stay in the urban area or go to the countryside? J – I will definitely go to the country. I think the zombies would stay in the urban area where there is more people to eat. WAS – That makes sense. J – Yeah! WAS – In your video “Bartender”, do you remember that video? J – It is a little bit hazy for me. WAS – Well, there is a background on which there is written S.P.I.D., was that your decoration idea? J - I have no recollection of that. I cannot comment on that. WAS – The thing is my friend has a band called S.P.I.D., which was formed few years before the video… J – No, I have no idea. I can definitely tell you that it was not done on purpose. The video was shot in Mexico. So, I have no idea what was going on there.

WAS – Okay, cool. Can you tell me what’s the meaning of life then? J – The meaning of life is learning things and trying to use your curiosity to figure out the meaning of life, because it’s the mystery. Definitely it is to progress, to learn and not to be selfish and to raise your vibrations out of fear into more of excitement and love. That’s what the meaning of my life has been. WAS – What would you do if you became a president? J – If I became a president hmmm? It’s hard to be a president. Like George Bush said – “It is easier to be a dictator!” Wow! I just quoted George Bush. When you’re a president you can only try to stir what’s going on, because you’ve got all these senators who decide for themselves what you’re gonna do. I don’t have enough of the knowledge what the power of presidency is to give you better answer on the things that I would actually do. Hahahaha At least I would do what Obama does, which is when I have a chance to speak of high things, things that are intelligent and tend to be hopeful and have loving vibrations. WAS – What books do you read? J – I read so many books, dude. I mostly read not fiction. I recently read “Freckles of Time” by Graig Brady, I also recently read cross-circle book. I read a book called a “New Dawn” or something, these all since my trip here (U.K.), so I read like 4 books since the tour started. I am reading a book called “Pleiadien Perspectives (On Human Evolution)”. I have a book on stand by called something about 2012 you know, so I’m just constantly reading. I enjoy certain books written from what they call “channelled information”, which are higher-dimensional beings writing through three-dimensional authors. I enjoy that. I have a list of all my books. One of my favourite books are “The Gods of Eden” (William Bramley), which attempts to explore the origins of war, which led them back to extraterrestrials in the world management team. Books are where you’re gonna find vast information.

WAS – Do you buy actual books, or you read online? J – Oh I buy books. I think it is more magical to read a book than to read even the same books up the Internet. Forget about that. Why would you... You have a book it doesn’t take any power you just open it, why do you need to plug in to read a book. I don’t get it. Hahahahah WAS – We heard that at some point in your career you were planning to make a porno movie. J – No way! WAS – Was that rumours? J – Rumours for sure! WAS – Then, tell us 3 movies that you would like us to watch. J – Oh Avatar, The Matrix and The Star Wars. Avatar is the great movie, because I feel it deals with some realities of life. The Matrix is the same thing, it is like another analogy for reality and what was the other one I mentioned? WAS – Star Wars. J – Cause Star Wars have a concept of what life… I believe the reality is more like Star Wars than what we’re told it is. WAS – You’re talking about older Star Wars? J – Sure, but I love them all. But the first ones, where introduced was the thing like the Force. And the opening “Long time ago in the galaxy far far away…” this is so true. WAS - I was watching it the other day… J – It’s so great, right? WAS - Indeed. Okay, do you have any special techniques to handle hangover? J – Okay, drinking a lot of water. Eating fruit. You have to face the fact that you won’t feel a 100%. You know, you have to deal with it, but water for sure, because there is something scientific that alcohol dehydrates your cells and they can’t go through their necessary functions. You have to rehydrate with water and fruit. And for sure, right after you drink too much, you have top eat a lot of greasy food, because the alcohol will get absorbed into it as opposed of going into your bloodstream. Definitely, even in the morning you want to eat greasy food, cause that way alcohol in your stomach gets absorbed by the food and won’t further your damage.

WAS – And what about the drinks? What kind of drinks you like? J – I don’t drink as much and the Jagermeister I refuse. I just like a mellow drink like Red Wine and if I get a little crazy, I will drink a little Vodka. I find that hangover is less with it then with Whiskey or something. If you don’t want a hangover, stay away from energy drinks like Red Bull and sugar with the vodka, like Coke or whatever, as it makes your hangover worse. WAS – We are from Georgia actually, not the US Georgia, but the other one… J – Yeah, I heard of it. WAS – Why did you never have a concert there? We were waiting for you for so long. J – I’m sorry, you know. In case you don’t know, all we do is we get on the plane, come out here and get on the bus and you see all the dates here (pointing at the list of the wall). They have the dates ready for us. We have no say where we go. Hahahaha But you know, maybe we’ll make it there. We’re going to Russia for the first time. There is first time for everything. Maybe next time Georgia. WAS – Maybe…At some point. J – hahahahahahha WAS – How effective is it to fight the system with music? J – Well, you know…it is very effective because… WAS – In what sense? J – In a sense that fighting the system really means waking up to the fact that there is a system and then once you woke up to the system, stop being a part of it. So, music itself, without the words works on the right side of person’s brain. Opens up their right side. Then the words come in and work on the left side. That’s why it works so great as a vehicle of information. So, waking people up through music is a great thing. Bob Marley, Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, all these people who have used their… Even Beethoven and Bach have the power to elevate human consciousness for sure.

WAS – What do you think about the new Emo bands that flood the world today? J – Hahahahaha definitely it is not new, because from my understanding, Emo’s have been around since 2003. I hope you don’t mean Refuse, I hate when people… Many Emo people like Refuse and In like Refuse and I don’t get it. At The Drive In is the great band. They are not Emo to me though. WAS – Well, they have been for 10 years or so, I mean like new new bands coming around? J – I don’t know. I feel like they are at the end of something. Like they are grabbing on to the cocktails for something that already was. The biggest thing in Emo was My Chemical Romance or whatever as far as I can tell. I’m not an official on it, but it seems My Chemical Romance was the biggest Emo band ever and what was this other one? WAS– Bullet for my Valentine? J – Yeah, whatever it is. It feels like we’re on the backside of the hill. It was up here and then it was just…declining. WAS – My last question. The thing that all music now is mp3 format more or less, people tend to buy less CDs and what do you think about that? Do you still prefer CDs or mp3s? J – Well, I buy CDs, I buy them. I don’t download albums generally. I like to buy CDs and then of course put them on my hard drive and have them on my laptop.

was – Are you buying them when you’re downloading? J – Oh yeah yeah, I don’t steal music. was – How do you feel about people who steal music? J – Well, I think that it is karmic. I think when a person does take music and doesn’t pay for it, it is karmic debt that they are building up. That is my opinion. You don’t get anything for free. I think every situation might be different. If you’re so broke and you just want to steal the music then it’s fine, but if you have the money and you appreciate the music, then why not support it by buying it. We don’t pay attention for – “Oh we could have sold a 100,000 instead of 70,000”, ahhh, who fucken’ cares?! We are not that concerned. (hed) PE, we all wanna make money, we all wanna put food on the table, but we are not overly concerned with materialism. was – I want to ask you one last favour. Could you sign your CDs? J – Oh sure. I will ask you for a favour too, do you own any of the independent CDs? was – No man, unfortunately not. Never had enough money to buy it. J – Well, after the show I usually hang around near merchandise stand to meet and chat with kids, so come around and I will give you one!

OUTRO The whole thing was very surprising and nostalgic at the same time. Jahred turned out a polar opposite of what image of him I had from all his lyrics and records. He seemed to be a living memory of 90’s despite all his talks about moving on and not having any affinity with the age when his band was formed. The gig itself though, proved all my doubts and all my highest expectations, wrong. Jahred and his crew rocked like it was 1999 and everything was just starting. All the 90’s hits like Bartender, Killing Time, Waiting To Die, Crazy Legs mixed with all new no-bullshit punk rock/rap with addition of covers such as No Woman No Cry and Stir It UP from Bob Marley. The whole concert he kept on turning down “corporate pussy bands”, “organized religion” and (surprise surprise) “violence”. Nostalgic feeling was reinforced through reminders that “doggy style is still the best” and references to getting high. But the peak moment of the concert was when Jahred screamed – “Jesus won’t save you from evil, neither will Buddha or Mohamed. There is no God. God is The Force liker in Star Wars” and the accords of Killing Time burst through the speakers. P.S. I didn’t forget Jahred’s promise and went straight to the merchandise stand. There was an enormous queue of kids, who wanted to buy merchandise, or have their tickets signed, some guy even asked for his forehead to be signed and most of the kids wanted to take the picture with Jahred. He paid attention to everyone and hasn’t ignored anyone. As soon as he saw me, he called me up and gave me his latest album - “Respect dude, and nothing but!”

LIGHT CROSS MICHAEL KORKIA MODEL: Anke Wilde Kerry “Daile” Edwards Michaela Bliss After reading the few sentences that she has been reading and re-reading the whole day, she finally decided what she would do, so despite the high colour in her cheeks, she started typing.
She entered the dim room with all the shyness of a little girl. Her cheeks were buring and she imagined them glowing high red in the dimness of the room. She looked around, but the only bright spot of the room was a crimson bed, draped with black gleaming plastic veil and in its centre, a glowing cross made of fluorescent lights drew her gaze. She simply couldn’t take her eyes of it. She was almost hypnotized with this steady ‘dead’ light when a voice came from the dark – “Undress!” Not without surprise, she felt her fingers slowly unbuttoning her shirt and discarding it at her feet. Next came the bra, the pants… she simply stepped out of the heap of discarded clothes, leaving her shoes and socks there, buried. Her fingers ran slowly to her panties, touching and caressing their upper part when the voice came again – “Leave it!” Her hands dropped in complete obedience and she stepped closer to the bed. She felt the attraction of the glowing cross. She wanted to touch it. No. she needed to. She climbed onto the bed and stopped. Cross was within her reach now. She felt its energy, its magic, its personality… She savoured the moment, while the first of many clicks came from the dark. She didn’t mind, or just didn’t care. She simply needed her cross, her pivot of existence. She reached out and… It was so good, so pleasant to wrap the fingers around its thickness. Feel its distant warmth and feeling the ‘dead’ light saturating through her palm.

She drew the cross to her bare breasts and felt all the energy flow right though her. It tingled her nose tip, her nipples grew harder and she felt all the butterflies in her belly, right under the belly button. It prickled her skin and sent the ripple of Goosebumps. Her hair began to move. She felt different, changed, transformed… It felt like eternity or just a fraction of a moment, but the cross suddenly grew dark and really dead right in her arms. She let it go with a deep sigh of trifle disappointment, letting it slip soundlessly to the soft of a bed. “Go. You’re done!” – the voice said. She didn’t bother with her clothes. They seemed utterly insignificant and useless. She went straight to the door without hesitation in spite of pitch darkness surrounding her. She reached for the handle and found it immediately; she turned it and walked out into the bright light. She felt new, reborn, revived…resurrected…

Seeing, Looking, feeling And reading... I Was thinking about horses, dreaming about horses then i saw one on a hill it was cold and the wind made it freezing but i wanted to feel the animal The hors was like a magnet to my. I wanted to feel if he or she was warm or cold, if her skin was rough or smooth. What is that connection, feeling that people have with some animals? Had to walk a long way up the hill i came closer the horse didn’t move she look t curious at me and the look t away to the big group of horses behind her. they where wit a group off maybe thirty horses,standing very close together. Some look t older and wiser,different colors different body language. I have learnt, a long time ago on primary school that horses have legs in stet off feet. Didn’t know much about these ferly big animals with there gentle looks. You can sit on them and ride then. If somebody is lifted over the horse he or she is spoiled or arrogant. RETURN TO LIFE ERIK EKEDAHL IN Yerevan The term resurrection means “return to life�. It might mean a return from the dead, religiously, spiritually, for me personally, it is something of a cyclic measure, where every spring is a return to life. Being from the very north of Europe, where long winter and life is ‘put on hold’ in the subzero temperatures one develops a special relation to the light and the warmer temperatures. We know life needs sun, water, air... when water is frozen and the sun is tucked away on the other side of the planet. Life seems gone. Bears of the north are, as seeds in the ground, sleeping. Spring is when we make plans and we make changes. Our hope returns, it can been seen in the faces of passerbyer in any Scandinavian town.

Armenia. Morning. Long walk in the streets. Nothing set, just the urge to explore, the need to expose myself to the sun beems. Got it in my blood i think, so when sun is out i go out and feel it. inspect, make sure life is getting along well with me still. My gut is bubbeling with excitement. In the sun: a lazy cat takes on life in a manner I can only envy: warm asfalt next to a wall. Reminds me of sleeping on a blanket in the kitchen next to out electric heater when I was a kid. In spring, the seemingly dead body of nature has once again risen from its cold sleep. Drives me to lay down in the newly awakened green grass, still the soil is damp, and I smell the morning breath of mother earth.

Thought by many that hell is some sort of place with fire all around and people boiling in oil, and devils with goat horns are there dancing and laughing at them for eternity. But the truth is different, hell is a place where we used to live during our human life and then after death we are still there, a place which we didn’t like and wanted to escape from it, hell it is for us as we go back there and stay there forever like in a prison wandering around the streets looking for help with our guardian death angels who control us.. and repeating our sins again and again against our will to be punished and tought a lesson which will never be learned.

Internet Archaeology seeks to explore, recover, archive and showcase the graphic artifacts found within earlier Internet Culture. Established in 2009, the chief purpose of Internet Archaeology is to preserve these artifacts and acknowledge their importance in understanding the beginnings and birth of an Internet Culture. We focus on graphic artifacts only, with the belief that images are most culturally revealing and immediate. Most of the files in our archive are in either JPG or GIF format and are categorized by either still or moving image, they are then arranged in various thematic subcategories. Currently, a major focus of Internet Archaeology is on the archiving and indexing of images found on Geocities websites, as their existence has been terminated by parent company Yahoo; who discontinued GeoCities operation on October 26, 2009. Internet Archaeology is an ongoing effort which puts preservation paramount. Unlike traditional archaeology, where physical artifacts are unearthed; Internet Archaeology’s artifacts are digital, thus more temporal and transient. Yet we believe that these artifacts are no less important than say the cave paintings of Lascaux. They reveal the origins of a now ubiquitous Internet Culture; showing where we have been and how far we have come.

Who is working on internet archeology? (is it a personal project or?) Internet Archaeology was founded by myself in June 2009 when I heard GeoCities was closing. I grew up with GeoCities and in a way it was just as important as a landscape as any physical one; such as school or my house growing up. I think it is a shame the lack of regard people have for digital ephemera - just because you can’t touch it doesn’t mean its not real. I think the digital landscape of the internet, primarily the early stages of when the internet became heavily embedded within pop culture, is something very telling and must be preserved. how do you came to the idea to start digging in internet? No one was doing it-allot of people use the internet-seemed like something to be passionate about. Where and/or how are you searching the graphic artifacts? When IA began we would create large text files of GeoCities URLs aggregated by

specific searches of interest - there wasn’t time to look through everything and there still isn’t. The content we look for are things that are culturally illuminating, humorous or aesthetically unique. Which period of internet artworks do you find most interesting? From 1995-1999 is what I am most intrigued by.... it was this time when computers came into my life in big ways as well as the lives of many American households... no longer were computers a tool for hobbits and nerds... they became as pop and commonplace as the television. This phenomenon and the products it produced are what captivate me most. In this time - before facebook and myspace and all those templated social networking sites - you would have had to figure out what you wanted to make a site about, learn how to make or find some graphics and figure out some basic HTML.. that ingenuity against all odds I find beautiful. What was in your life before internet archeology? Same. Broke and dreaming. if u had a resurrection power, who would u like to resurrect? Mambo #5 your last words? Miriam Glinka was one of model idols of the brand for the collection of Les rois ambig端s. Of her attendance and in the contact of her work was born the desire to create costumes according to each of her collages which take of all the living space, to make a palace from nothing otherwise of self-adhesive papers, colors and structures, and of time, of her life, which is an imprint of a contemporary dandysm. This project take six month. I was working step by sted following her. The photography fixes this meeting of dandy box. We share an apartment in Berlin, with two cats

Day to day we disappear in our own self-made reality where we can be safe from the turmoils of the outside world. we try and linger in there, thus achieving truly grand things. that is what keeps us alive and helps us carry on further and further-our own perfect little world.A world where everything is possible, everything can happen - without any sweat and tears... “a perfect world story” plays with modern materials and elements of yesteryear epochs. boyish pleat-front trousers in feminine powdershades, big blouson-sleeves, geometrical appliqués, babyhats and gold buttons from the 18th century – all of this is coming together in this collection. pearl-embroidered blouses and soft knitted suits are contrasted with skincoloured neopren and black shimmering letherette. You won’t find find any zippers in this collection; all pieces are closed with belts, buckles and buttons.
