FACTS & STATS S

THE RANDOX FOXHUNTERS' OPEN HUNTERS' CHASE

RACE DESCRIPTION The first of only three races at the meeting on the Grand National course, the Foxhunters offers amateur jockeys the chance of glory over the most famous fences. Plenty of horses, riders and trainers love a tilt at the Foxhunters', which is the Grand National equivalent for the Point-to-Point racing sphere and can always throw a few curveballs along the way.

2022 Winner

Having not raced under Rules since finishing second in this contest in 2021, Latenightpass pulled out all the stops to go one better She was thriving in Points beforehand and Gina Andrews made use of her excellent jumping, albeit out to the right, to be up with the pace throughout She battled well to the line to fend off Cat Tiger, who also ran well in this race again to finish second, closely followed by Porlock Bay, trained and ridden by William Biddick.
