CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME Welcome to the opening day of QIPCO King George Diamond Weekend, featuring the Group 1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes. Our most grateful thanks go to QIPCO, Official Partner at Ascot and race sponsor today. Three horses have won Britain’s midsummer highlight twice; Dahlia (1972, 1973), Swain (1997, 1998) and Enable (2017, 2019). Today, a year after just getting the better of Crystal Ocean in what was widely called the race of the year in Europe, Enable bids to make history by becoming the first horse to win three “King Georges”. Win or lose today, and Enable faces formidable competition from the Ballydoyle team in Ireland, with three runners headed by Japan, the six-year-old mare will always be on the roll of honour of King George greats. On the subject of King George greats, every year we and QIPCO celebrate a great winner of the past. This year, we are marking the achievements of Nijinsky, who won the King George of 1970 under Lester Piggott alongside his three Classic victories which saw him win the Triple Crown. More information can be found on page 8 of this racecard as well as a link to an interview conducted this week with Lester, where he reflects on that golden summer. The King George is part of the QIPCO British Champions Series and, also, a Win and You’re In race for the Breeders’ Cup Turf. As such, it carries incentives from the Breeders’ Cup to run in the autumn US championships. In addition to QIPCO, we extend our thanks to today’s other race sponsors; Moët & Chandon and Betfred are Ascot’s Official Champagne Supplier and Official Bookmaker respectively and each sponsor a race today. Bjorn Nielsen, well known to Ascot racegoers as the owner/breeder of Stradivarius, sponsors a race through The Anders Foundation, a charity he established in memory of his late brother which supports young people of all abilities, both disabled and able bodied, to achieve their sporting goals. We would also like to thank the European Breeders Fund and John Guest Racing for their race sponsorships. We at Ascot are particularly grateful to the Guest family for their continued support over many years. Race three today, the BetfredTV Pat Eddery Stakes, commemorates the 11-time champion jockey who died in 2015. Pat had a particular affinity with Ascot and rode Grundy and Dancing Brave to victory in the King George. We remember him today. Our penultimate race today is being run to mark the 1,400+ hours of voluntary driving undertaken by members of Ascot staff, including its catering wing, 1711 by Ascot, and betting company, Bet With Ascot. More information on this aspect of our Covid-19 relief efforts can be found on page 51. Whilst we are unable to welcome the public at the moment, it was announced this week that pilot sporting events with limited crowds would now begin and that includes the final day of Glorious Goodwood, a week today. We remain unsure as to when our first race meeting open to the public will be or what format that will take but we will continue to update our website with the latest information. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy what may prove to be a truly historic day for racing.

1st Race 12.40pm The Anders Foundation British EBF Crocker Bulteel Maiden Stakes
5th Race 3.00pm The Betfred ‘Nifty Fifty’ Handicap Stakes
This race is a six furlong maiden stakes for two-year-old colts and geldings who have not run more than once before. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightlyraced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking. PAGES 16-18
2nd Race 1.15pm The Betfred Supports Jack Berry House British EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Plus 10/GBB Race)
This six furlong novice stakes is restricted to two-yearold fillies. Unlike a maiden, which is restricted to horses yet to record a victory, winning horses which have run in a maximum of six races are eligible to run. The weights are initially set at 9st each, before previous winners are allocated penalties depending on the level at which they have been successful. PAGES 22-24
3rd Race 1.50pm The BetfredTV Pat Eddery Stakes (Listed Race) (Formerly The Winkfield Stakes
This is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds which have been rated from 86 to 105. Like all handicaps on today’s card, this means that should a horse rated 105 take part they would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 100. PAGES 44-45
6th Race 3.35pm The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series)
This one mile and four furlong race for three-year-olds and upwards is a Group 1 contest; the highest level of racing. Group 1 races attract the very best horses from Britain and Ireland and also from around the world. Victory in a Group 1 race is the pinnacle for owners, trainers and jockeys and those horses that are capable of racing competitively at this level often go on to have lucrative careers at stud. PAGES 48-50
7th Race 4.10pm The Betfred.com Handicap Stakes
This is a one mile and four furlong handicap race for threeyear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 71 to 90. Like all handicaps on today’s card, this means that should a horse rated 90 take part they would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 85. PAGES 52-54
This seven furlong contest for two-year-olds is a Listed race; a race that can only be bettered by a Group 1, 2 or 3 race. Many of the runners in this race will have already shown themselves to be talented and this race provides a perfect medium for them to be tested against a better class of rival before making the jump into a Group race. Initially the weights are set at 9st 3lb for colts and geldings and 8st 12lb for fillies, before penalties are awarded to horses that have previously won above a certain level – 3lb for a Listed race victory or 5lb for a Pattern race success.
8th Race 4.45pm The Frimley NHS Foundation Ascot Volunteer Drivers Nursery Handicap Stakes
PAGES 28-31
9th Race 5.20pm The John Guest Racing Brown Jack Handicap Stakes
4th Race 2.25pm The Moët & Chandon International Stakes (Heritage Handicap)
This race is a seven furlong handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards. Despite having no rating restrictions attached to this race, the higher rated horses must still concede weight to their lower rated rivals, which tend to make open handicaps very competitive races.

21. Weight (stones/pounds) 22. Official BHA Rating The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring penalties and allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicapped races the rating shown is that each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h. 23. Jockey’s name and photo If there is a number next to the name, this indicates that the jockey can claim that amount in weight (lbs) off the stated riding weight.

A SHORT HISTORY ASCOT’S BEGINNINGS Few sporting venues can match the rich heritage and history of Ascot Racecourse. Over the past 300 years, Ascot has established itself as a national institution; with Royal Ascot becoming the centrepiece of the British social calendar and the ultimate stage for the best racehorses in the world.
THE FIRST RACECOURSE The racecourse was laid out by William Lowen, assisted by a team including a carpenter, a painter, and a racing administrator. The first permanent building was erected around 1794 by a local Windsor builder. Holding 1,650 people, it was used for almost fifty years.
It was Queen Anne in 1711 who first saw the potential for a racecourse at Ascot (in those days called East Cote). Whilst out riding near Windsor Castle she came upon an area of open heath that looked, in her words, “ideal for horses to gallop at full stretch”.
In 1813, Parliament passed an Act of Enclosure, which ensured that Ascot Heath would be kept and used as a racecourse for the public in the future. Racing at Ascot was now secure.
THE FIRST RACE MEETING The first race meeting ever held at Ascot took place later that year, on Saturday 11th August. The inaugural event was Her Majesty’s Plate, worth 100 guineas and open to any horse, mare or gelding over six years of age. Each horse was required to carry a weight of 12 stone and the seven runners were all English Hunters, rather different to the speedy thoroughbreds that race on the Flat today. The nature of the contest also bears little resemblance to modern day racing at Ascot. That race consisted of three separate heats, each four miles long – about the length of today’s Grand National course. The winning horse would have required tremendous stamina, but sadly there is no record of who claimed that first Plate. Queen Anne’s gift to racing, founding the Royal Racecourse, is marked by the tradition of opening Royal Ascot with The Queen Anne Stakes.

A S H O RT H I STO RY
ROYAL ASCOT The precise origins of the Royal Meeting are unclear, as the event evolved from the first four-day meeting that took place in 1768. The meeting as it’s known today only really started to take shape with the introduction of The Gold Cup in 1807. Royal Ascot was the only race meeting held at Ascot until 1939. The Gold Cup remains the feature race of the third day of Royal Ascot, traditionally the busiest day of the week, when high fashion and exquisite millinery take centre stage alongside Flat racing’s most elite stayers. In 2009, Yeats, ridden by Johnny Murtagh and trained by Aidan O’Brien, won his fourth consecutive Gold Cup – a magnificent achievement, and one that Stradivarius could emulate next year.
MANAGING ASCOT Although founded by a Queen and located on Crown property, the administration of Ascot is handled on behalf of the Crown by a representative appointed by the Monarch. Up until 1901, the racecourse was managed on the Sovereign’s behalf by the Master of the Royal Buckhounds. In 1901, Lord Churchill was appointed as His Majesty’s Representative, responsible for running the course and determining entrance to the Royal Enclosure. The Ascot Authority was established in 1913 by an Act of Parliament, with His Majesty’s Representative becoming Senior Trustee. Today, as Ascot Authority (Holdings) Limited, Ascot has a formal board chaired by Sir Francis Brooke Bt., who also serves as Her Majesty’s Representative at Ascot. As an owner and breeder of racehorses, Her Majesty The Queen takes a keen interest in the races, and has had great success with her own horses over the years. The jockeys riding Her Majesty’s horses can be identified by The Queen’s racing colours: purple body with gold braid, scarlet sleeves, and black velvet cap with gold fringe – the same as those of King Edward VII and George IV as Prince Regent. During Royal Ascot, The Queen traditionally presents The Gold Cup and The Diamond Jubilee Stakes. New versions of these trophies are made each year and presented to the winners to keep. Ascot Racecourse closed for a £200 million redevelopment in 2004, and was reopened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on 20th June 2006. HIGHLIGHTS AT ASCOT SINCE 2006 There have been several landmark occasions since Ascot Racecourse reopened in 2006 and none more memorable than two special Gold Cup days - when Yeats completed his four-timer of Gold Cup wins in 2009 and when The Queen herself won the stayers’ championship with Estimate in 2013.
In 2011, Ascot celebrated its tercentenary and staged the inaugural QIPCO British Champions Day, now the culmination of the European elite Flat racing season. The great Frankel won The Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day in 2011, and the curtain came down on the career of officially the best horse of all time when he won The Champion Stakes a year later. Sir Henry Cecil’s pride and joy won five of his 14 races at Ascot in all. 2012 also saw Ascot at the heart of the country’s celebrations to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, with The Golden Jubilee Stakes renamed The Diamond Jubilee Stakes and won by the great Australian mare, Black Caviar. Ascot has continued to cement its reputation as Europe’s premier destination for the best horses in the world. In recent years it is the Americans who have had most success, with Tepin’s win in the 2016 Queen Anne Stakes and Lady Aurelia’s King’s Stand Stakes victory the following year being notable highlights. The latter filly was trained by Wesley Ward, who has now saddled 11 winners at the Royal Meeting. It is not just international horses which Ascot is known for, of course. Jockeys also come from all over the world to ride here - perhaps most notably at the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup, a unique fixture in the global racing calendar which each year sees many of world’s top jockeys compete for points to lift racing’s ultimate team prize, with four teams battling it out across a thrilling six-race contest. Whilst the grandeur of Royal Ascot takes centre stage in June, Ascot’s premier summer race actually takes place in July. As Europe’s midsummer middle-distance showpiece, The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes has seen many champions crowned, including legends Mill Reef, Dancing Brave, Nashwan, Galileo and Enable. There have been three dual winners to date - Dahlia, Swain and most recently Enable, who in July 2019 became the first horse to regain her King George crown when prevailing in an epic dual with the gallant Crystal Ocean, two years after first landing the prestigious prize. THE QIPCO DIAMONDS & PEARLS AWARD CELEBRATING 50 YEARS SINCE NJINSKY’S KING GEORGE Each year, to mark QIPCO’s sponsorship of The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the winner of a vintage renewal is commemorated. In honour of his remarkable achievements a half century ago, Nijinsky is the 2020 recipient of the QIPCO Diamonds & Pearls Award. The illustrious son of Northern Dancer was the last colt to claim the English Triple Crown when landing the 2,000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger of 1970 and as well as that famous sweep of Classics, won the Irish Derby and King George that same season. Bred in Canada, Nijinsky was sent into training with legendary Irish trainer Vincent O’Brien and for the majority of his career, was partnered by the peerless Lester Piggott. Unbeaten as a juvenile, he was the Champion Two-Year-Old of 1969 and the following year, secured a consummate victory in both the 2,000 Guineas and the Derby, having only recovered from colic some 24 hours prior to the Epsom Classic. Following another commanding win in the Irish Derby, Nijinsky’s next assignment was The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and, as had become customary, the colt was sent off long odds-on favourite to add Ascot’s mid-season showpiece to a growing haul of Group 1 victories. Facing his elders for the first time, he was the only three-year-old in an elite field of six that included Blakeney, the 1969 Derby winner. Poised towards the back of the field until two furlongs out, he soared nonchalantly clear to win at a virtual canter, Piggott easing him up a half furlong from the line to score by a facile two lengths. This was Nijinsky at his brilliant best. That September, Nijinsky went on to land the St Leger and thus the Triple Crown, a feat no other horse had achieved for 35 years, and which has eluded all others since. His final two starts were the only occasions he tasted defeat in an otherwise flawless career, notably when an agonisingly close second in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. He retired to stud, siring 155 Group winners including three Derby champions before his death in 1992. As sublimely gifted as the celebrated ballet dancer after whom he was named, Nijinsky is amongst the most legendary names on an illustrious list of King George champions and will forever be revered as one of the greatest thoroughbreds of all time.

Moët & Chandon has been associated with the equestrian world since 1908 when two three-year-old horses, one named “Moët” and the other “Chandon”, belonging to Monsieur Alfred Simon, the House’s sales representative in London, finished first in Epsom and Newbury respectively. That same year, “Moët” ran fourth in the Hunt Cup at Ascot and as a result, Alfred Simon referred to it as his “lucky” race. Moët & Chandon, the ‘Official Champagne of Ascot’ is available in a variety of formats across the racecourse. With a bottle of its champagne opened every second around the globe, Moët & Chandon knows that every second is an experience, and every experience is a #MoetMoment to live now. Please enjoy Moët & Chandon responsibly. moet.com

This race has been donated in recognition of the 26-strong team of volunteers from Ascot Racecourse, Bet with Ascot, CSP and Carpe Diem Executive Cars who, since 13th April 2020, have volunteered their time to drive medical professionals between hospital sites during the recent pandemic. Collectively they have clocked up 1,400+ volunteer hours, operating a 7-day shift pattern, transporting around 60 members of NHS staff on a regular basis. Whilst the service has now finished, a strong relationship between the racecourse and the charitable Trust has now been forged which is set to continue long into the future. fhft.nhs.uk A S C OT S P O N S O R S

DUAL KING GEORGE VI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH STAKES WINNERS A SELECT AND EXCLUSIVE GROUP If Enable wins the 2020 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes, she will become the first horse to win the prestigious race three times. Swain (1997 and 1998) and Dahlia (1973 and 1974) are the only other dual winners of Ascot’s mid-summer showpiece and both enjoyed hugely impressive, globe-trotting careers having begun life in France.
George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. She was again named British Horse of the Year for 1974 and raised her Timeform rating to 135, a career best.
Dahlia was a chestnut mare, bred in America and sent to be trained in France by Maurice Zilber. She won the Prix Yacowlef at Deauville as a two-year-old but, after defeat in the French 1,000 Guineas, it was when she moved up in distance that she really showed her best. After winning the Prix Saint Alary and the Prix de Diane (French Oaks), she travelled to Ireland for the Irish Oaks, taking on Mysterious who had won the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and The Oaks at Epsom. She won easily by three lengths and just a week later was sent to Ascot to test herself against the opposite sex and older horses for the first time.
Swain was bred by Sheikh Mohammed in Ireland and was a son of Nashwan, himself the winner of the race in 1989. Sent into training with Andre Fabre in France, he didn’t make his debut until three but won his first five races before finishing third in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
It wasn’t to prove much of a test as she swept through the field of 12 entering the straight and went away in the closing stages to win by six lengths in a record time. It was to prove the peak moment of her season and saw her earn the British Horse of the Year Award and a Timeform rating of 132. The following season she was slowly into her stride, being beaten in her first three starts before winning the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Three weeks later she cantered to victory at Ascot under Lester Piggott to become the first dual-winner of The King 32 DUAL KING GEORGE WINNERS
She would be back in 1975 to try and win the race for a third time but could only manage third behind Grundy and Bustino in arguably the most famous renewal of the race.
He won the Group 1 Coronation Cup the following year but it wasn’t until he was a five-year-old in 1997, switched to be trained by Saeed bin Suroor, that he competed in The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes for the first time. A relatively unfancied 16/1, he beat Pilsudski, Helissio and Singspiel under John Reid to claim victory. A year later a young Frankie Dettori took the ride and he saw off the Derby winner High-Rise to become the first, and so far only, six-year-old to win the race. Enable arrives looking to double the number of six-year-olds that have been successful and make history as the first triple winner. She won the race first as a three-year-old in 2017 when she swept all before her when beating Ulysses, Idaho and Highland Reel. Last year she got the better of Crystal Ocean in that memorable head-to-head. All eyes will be on her again this year with history in her sights.

THE KING GEORGE VI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH QIPCO STAKES The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes, as Europe’s indisputable midsummer middle-distance showpiece, is one of the most prestigious prizes in racing. The Group 1 contest has been won by some of the sport’s most legendary names and to this day attracts the most elite horses in training to compete for a place among the greats. The race was founded in 1951, when two existing races were merged to create a premier mile-and-a-half contest for three-year-olds and upwards. Major John Crocker Bulteel, Ascot’s Clerk of the Course at the time and one of the most forward-thinking racing figures of his day, envisaged the King George as a championship race that would draw considerable international support. Sure enough, from its earliest days it attracted participants of the very highest calibre from across Europe and soon established itself as the principal mid-season weight-for-age test for middle-distance horses. It is also significant in giving the Classic generation one of the very first opportunities to take on their elders in what often proves to be a thrilling clash of the generations. Three-year-olds carry 8st 10lb compared to the 9st 7lb allocated to those aged four and above, while fillies and mares receive a 3lb allowance. The inaugural running attracted a stellar international field, and was won by Supreme Court. The following two years saw that season’s Derby winner triumph, before Her Majesty The Queen’s colt Aureole delivered a famous royal victory in 1954. The undefeated Italian champion and dual Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Ribot won the 1956 renewal, his one and only start on British turf. Lester Piggott was to enjoy the first three of his seven King George wins in the 1960s, the first coming aboard Irish Derby winner Meadow Court in 1965. However, his winning ride on Nijinsky in 1970 would mark the start of a particularly golden era in the race’s history across the subsequent two decades. The illustrious son of Northern Dancer won the King George at a virtual canter the same season as claiming the Triple Crown, a feat to have eluded every other colt to have attempted it in the fifty years since. Another outstanding Derby winner landed the spoils just a year later, as Mill Reef swept to victory in 1971 en route to a decisive Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe win. The 1975 renewal, often since described as ‘the race of the century’, provided one of the most thrilling race finishes of all time, as Grundy and Bustino locked horns in a titanic battle to the line, smashing the course record in the process. Following a sensational ten-length Derby victory in the hands of 19-year-old Walter Swinburn, which he followed up in the Irish equivalent, Shergar was an emphatic winner in 1981, giving trainer Sir Michael Stoute the first of his record six King George wins. Later that decade came victories from another two greats – the subsequent Arc hero Dancing Brave (1986) and the brilliant Nashwan (1989), the only horse to have won the 2,000 Guineas, Derby, Coral-Eclipse and King George in the same season. Twenty years ago, Montjeu claimed the 50th renewal in devastating style, dismissing his rivals with consummate ease under Mick Kinane. The following year, the same jockey partnered the dual Derby champion Galileo to defeat the high-class five-year-old Fantastic Light. Aidan O’Brien’s first King George winner has since become the dominant stallion of his era, siring a record number of Group 1 winners including the incomparable Frankel. It is ten years since Harbinger stunned Ascot with a breathtaking 11-length King George victory in 2010, the longest winning margin in the race’s history. He also broke the course record set by Grundy in that epic finish of 35 years previously but it was only another three years before a new record time was posted, when Novellist became the second German-trained winner in as many years, following Danedream’s success in 2012. Most recently, the John Gosden-trained Enable, in what has justly been billed a ‘race for the ages’, narrowly prevailed in a thrilling duel with the gallant Crystal Ocean in 2019. One of only three horses to have won the race twice, Prince Khalid Abdullah’s outstanding mare today bids for what would be an unprecedented third King George victory. Should she prevail, she would also become only the second winner aged over five, and would provide her jockey Frankie Dettori with a seventh victory in the race to equal Lester Piggott’s tally. Whichever of today’s runners adds their name to its illustrious roll of honour, we can look forward to another exceptional renewal of this magnificent race. 3 8 K I N G G EO R G E H I STO RY

“I’m excited about Zoustar but I’m even more excited about him now that I’ve seen his foals. We foaled 9 here and they are a cracking bunch. Scopey, muscled and with a good walk they should go down very well at the sales.” The Hon. Peter Stanley, New England Stud
“We have 4 Zoustar foals on the farm. They all have great presence, good movers and are good-looking foals. I think these Zoustar’s are what every breeder hopes for and when they see them they’re going to sell very well.” David Cox, Baroda Stud
“Our Zoustar colt has inherited his sire’s imposing physicality. Loads of bone and muscle with a great outlook. At 71kg birth weight this precocious fellow is exactly what we were hoping from the mating.” Dr Pat Sells, Chasemore Farm

HHH Smart colt but he’s a substandard Derby winner and is 0-7 since that Epsom success, most recently beaten favourite in the Hardwicke which was a second below-par effort at Ascot, though his heavy defeat in this race last year looked too bad to be true; ran well behind the highly talented Ghaiyyath at Newmarket two starts ago but looks set for another supporting role. HHHH Close third to stablemate Anthony Van Dyck in last year’s Derby then completed an excellent hat-trick, including Group 1 wins in the Grand Prix de Paris and Juddmonte International; just over 2l behind Enable in the 2019 Arc and closed that gap to only a head in the Eclipse on latest outing, albeit with the Gosden mare ring-rusty; the Sandown effort was a step up on his Royal Ascot run and he looks ready to hit the heights of last summer; respected. HHHHH Fantastic mare who was collared near the finish on testing ground when bidding for a historic third success in the Arc and is now attempting to become the first horse to win this contest three times; has ten Group 1 wins on her CV in total, including last year’s Eclipse, and lack of peak fitness counted against her in that race on 2020 seasonal debut, though she was far from disgraced behind rising middle-distance force Ghaiyyath; should be spot on for this momentous occasion and show the Ballydoyle colts who’s boss. FRIMLEY HEALTH NHS FOUNDATION TRUST– ASCOT VOLUNTEER DRIVING INITIATIVE Since 13th April, a 26-strong team of volunteers comprising staff from Ascot Racecourse, Bet With Ascot, our parking contractors CSP and Carpe Diem Executive Cars, have been driving medical professionals and supplies between hospital sites for Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Using a fleet of 10 BMW cars which were loaned to the Trust, over the past three months the team regularly transported around 60 members of NHS staff and collectively clocked up over 1,400 volunteer hours. The team also delivered lunches donated by the racecourse to various NHS COVID-19 test centres and afternoon teas and mocktails to “Project Wingman” hospital lounges – serviced by furloughed cabin crew, these areas provided a place for nursing staff to unwind and enjoy some TLC in between shifts. In recognition of their efforts and the great camaraderie that was formed between the drivers and their passengers, the volunteers were asked to group together for a commemorative, socially-distanced photograph as shown here which will be framed for posterity. Some of the NHS passengers also took the time to come and personally thank the team which is testament to the vital role they played. Whilst this service has ended, a close relationship has been formed between the racecourse and the Trust and we look forward to working collaboratively together well into the future.
