Having shaped with encouragement back from a break at Perth last month, KNOMOREDIAMONDS is taken to make a winning handicap debut off what could turn out to be a very fair opening mark. Irish import Shantou Lucky appeared to turn a corner when scoring at Perth and he is the clear main danger ahead of Dreams of Home and Serious Ego.

PLAY SMARTER
This looks pretty trappy and the suggestion is WESTERN ZEPHYR, who resumes on an attractive mark and will have every chance if able to get back on track. Dollar Collar and Donnacha are both of interest starting out over fences here, while The Churchill Lad is respected in his bid to maintain his 100% record in this sphere and Parisencore is also shortlisted.
Previous race trends (2014-23) can often help provide a short-list of potential winners in the current year’s races. The percentage figure after the race details is the favourite’s ‘strike rate’ in the race Trainers who have won the race before are also highlighted if they had an entry at the final declaration stage.
1.22 – 2m 4f(ConditionalJockeys) Handicap Hurdle (Fav 50%): Race run 4 times before with horses aged 6yo winning three ofthe four races. 2.32 & 3.07 – 2m 1fNovices’ Hurdle (Fav 50%): As this year, the race is often divided into two divisions with 14 races run in the last ten years. 12/14 past winners were 4th or better on their last completed start (others were unplaced or making debut) and 13/14 had odds of 9/2 or shorter 5yo is the preferred age group with 10/14 wins seen. Trainers to watch: D McCain (won 2016, 20 & 21), LV Russell (won 2019).

KING OFTARA: Following its run on 27/4/2024 it was reported that the horse sustained an injury to left-fore.
PADDYO’MAHLER: Following its run on 11/5/2024 it was reported that the horse was never travelling.
Probable S.P’s: 13-8 Irish Lullaby (GB), 6-1 Byron Hill (IRE), 10-1 Beny Nahar Road (IRE), 12-1 V Twelve (IRE), IndependentJimmy (GB), 14-1 King ofTara (GB), 20-1Allbetsoff(IRE), Wolfburg (IRE), 22-1 Paddy O’Mahler(IRE), 25-1 Coventry (IRE), 66-1 Lady’s Present (IRE)
A case can be made for a few ofthese but Martin Todhunter’s VTWELVE was last seen over hurdles scoring at Wetherby and has been in winning form on the Flat since so gets the vote The returning Irish Lullaby looks to have more to offer and could emerge as the main danger ahead of in-form duo Byron Hill and Beny Nahar Road.
