BETTING EXPLAINED

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

Stewards Note:

MOONLIGHTARTIST: Following its run on 5/12/2024 it was reported that the horse made a mistake.

Probable S.P’s: 9-2 Katate Dori (FR), 11-2 I See The Sea (IRE), 13-2 Simple Getaway (IRE), 8-1 Lock Out (IRE), 9-1 Bampton Star (GB), 10-1 School For Scandal (FR), 11-1 Good Friday Fairy (IRE), Moonlight Artist (GB), 18-1 Kingcormac (IRE), 22-1 Lightonthewing (IRE), Supreme Commander (IRE)

KATATE DORI failed to get his head in front over hurdles but showed the benefit of his reappearance run when finishing a creditable fourth at Uttoxeter on his latest start and he appeals as a likely type to take to this discipline for the Sam Thomas stable. Simple Getaway is another chase debutant to note, particularly if market vibes are positive. Good Friday Fairy, I See The Sea and and Lock Out are others in the mix.

KEABLE has just a handful of starts to his name and, having stepped up on his reappearance when runner-up at Wincanton last month, he gets the nod to go one better and open his account. The main threat may emerge from Mutley Crew, who is also very lightly raced for her age and has taken her form up a notch since sent handicapping. Inspector Lynley and Caitlin’s Court can do battle for third.

The majority of these have something to prove for one reason or another but SAINT CYR DE PAIL doesn’t fall into that camp He landed a maiden here last term and is appealing on the back of an improved handicap debut second at Bangor where he left the impression that this stiffer test would help Danton is feared most back hurdling, while Paddys Island is respected on the back of an encouraging enough run at Stratford and Missy Mole may be seen in a better light now upped in trip

EMERGENCY EVACUATION

Whilst we always endeavour to take appropriate steps to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is, therefore, important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. We employ Safety Officials whose job it is to ensure your safety In the event of a situation which requires a partial or full evacuation of the Stands, announcements will be broadcast and the Officials will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your belongings with you and proceed out of the enclosure quickly and quietly under their guidance.

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine BHA Officials ensure that racecourses deliver these standards. In addition Exeter Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in

the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
