Fakenham Racecard - Friday 14th March

FRIDAY 14TH MARCH 2025

CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE

Important update from Sam Bullard, our Fakenham Racecourse Chairman

Following on from the Fakenham Autumn race meeting on 18 October 2024, which was abandoned after the first race, the Racecourse Chairman and Chief Executive have been in extensive discussions with the British Horseracing Board (BHA) Senior Executive to get clarity on the reasons for abandoning.

As a result, the BHA have agreed to conduct a full, round table review of its stewarding procedures and protocols. The review will include representatives from Fakenham Racecourse.

At no time during the discussions has it been suggested that Fakenham Racecourse could have done more to prevent what happened and it is hoped that the review will equip BHA officials with better knowledge to prevent such occurrences happening again.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW ORGANIC has made a low-key start to her hurdling career, but it’s worth remembering she was fairly useful on the Flat and could well prove a different proposition now faced with less testing ground for the first time in this sphere. THE TIMEFORM VIEW The strong-travelling JACKPOT CASH should be well suited to the sharp nature of this track, and he can make it 2 wins from 3 starts for his new yard. Getoverthathill may be able to bounce back from a disappointing effort returned to a sounder surface, while Bobby’s Fortune and Gloire d’Athon could improve for the step up in trip.

TIMEFORM VIEW Showed promise on first of 2 starts in maiden hurdles for Neil McKnight in Ireland and spared a hard race on final qualifying run for new yard at Kempton (2m).
