Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Virgin Bet Raceday Preview

1.37pm - Timetoshine looks to be the one to beat here. She had good form on the flat in France before switching to the Nicky Henderson yard She won her maiden hurdle at Huntingdon going away and looks to have plenty of scope over jumps. Miss Altea Blue was a nice winner of a Wincanton Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle last week. It’s a quick turnaround for her but she comes here on good recent form and has to be respected for the Paul Nicholls yard. Anariza ran well in a Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Wetherby. She does have her chances but preference is for Timetoshine.

2.10pm - Asta La Pasta looks interesting now with first time head gear and tongue tied. He does have tactical pace and makes more appeal than his stablemate, Riskintheground. First Street could get closer this time around to Asta La Pasta, now off a mark of 128. Teddy Blue looks like he could be coming back to form after his win last time out at Huntingdon. He could be well treated off 127

2.45pm - West Balboa carries top weight here for trainer, Dan Skelton and Heidi Palin takes off 7lbs today. She is the class angle to the race and looks well handicapped now off a mark of 136. Chasing Fire has been given some time off from a couple of disappointing runs but could get involved if able to bounce back to form. Irish hill goes up 2lbs for his narrow win last time out at Warwick. He has claims again here today and should handle the ground.

3.20pm - Bad was an easy winner over course and distance last time out for the inform combination of Ben’s Pauling & Jones, he’s up 9lbs for that win which will make things tougher, preference is for Flegmatik who goes well here, he was outclassed last time in the Grade 1 Ascot Chase but comes here looking well handicapped off 130 with conditions to suit.

3.57pm - Kingston Pride was pulled up last time out at Sandown when sent off 6/4 Fav, the ground was soft that day, his two wins prior to that flop came on better ground so its possible that he could leave that run behind now back on a sounder surface

4.32pm - This looks tailormade for the ultra-consistent The Doyen Chief, 3miles,softground.Onlyjustnarrowlymissedoutlasttimewhen11/8favourite, if he can be held up a little longer, he should be able to take advantage after jumping the last. The danger looks to be Dibble Decker who is only 2 pounds higher than his last winning mark and whose form has improved this spring.

5.07pm - A tricky bumper to conclude the card as none of the contenders have yet to see a racecourse. Night Ride Home (N.Henderson) & Leaumec De Mee (D.Skelton) will obviously have their supporters but could well go off under the odds. A chance is taken here with Idontdealwithliars for the inform J.Tizzardyard.Theyard has a fare strike rate overthe last 3 seasons in bumpers, stable jockey B.Powell takes the ride.

TIMETOSHINE ran out a decisive winner on her recent Huntingdon hurdling debut, despite being in need of the experience in terms of her jumping, so she’s fancied to defy a penalty with plenty of improvement forthcoming. Anariza and Miss Altea Blue are the obvious threats.

A really good handicap SAINTANAPOLINO is taken to defy a 7lb rise for last month’s C&D success and make it 4 in a row but there are plenty of possible dangers, headed by the prolific Double Powerful, who was arguably a bit unlucky not to complete a remarkable 7-timer at Ascot when last seen just before Christmas.
