Plenty of these have questions to answer but DOUBLE OBAN ran a cracker on return from 6 months off when finding just one too strong at Wetherby on Boxing Day, so he’s fancied to regain the winning thread at the expense of Lahire, who did too much up front when finishing a couple of places behind the selection last time. Gms Prince can edge out recent C&D winner Magnetic North for third.

Hally’s Kitchen

Official equine ambassador for Market Rasen Racecourse

Hally’s Kitchen retired in 2020 following an unsuccessful National Hunt career while in training with Justin Landy, she ran nine times under rules and once in a point-to-point without troubling the judge. She is now owned by Samantha Hunt and is excelling in the show ring!

Hally (as she is known) has competed in several high profile shows including the RoR finals at Hickstead and in an SEIB Racehorse to Riding Horse qualifier at Burghley Horse Trials.

Samantha describes Hally as kind and laid-back - she loves cuddles and being groomed!

Retraining of Racehorses

RoR is British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses that have retired from racing. The charity offers education for owners, establishes retraining practices and promotes the versatility of former racehorses in competitions across various disciplines.

The Horses for Courses scheme, supported by Godolphin, showcases the wide range of disciplines that racehorses go on to enjoy after their racing careers have ended, providing racegoers with an ongoing opportunity to meet and learn more about racing’s biggest stars – the horses!

Unibet is the first bookmaker to bring you the revolutionary

digital racecard from the Racing Post.

Each Smart View racecard considers up to 8 attributes influencing a horse’s performance including its overall ability and jumping prowess, the trainer and jockey, the course, distance and ground. Expressed as an overall % – the higher the figure, the better the chance.

MY PORTIA looked an improved model on the back of a 6-month break when chasing home a next-time-out winner at Leicester 6 weeks ago and she could be worth chancing to confirm the promise of that run, operating from her correct mark. Last-time-out winners Orbys River and J’habite En France can also get involved if arriving in the same form. Amarillobymorning needs monitoring in the betting for clues now sent chasing from a basement mark.

SMILE BACK created a taking impression when scoring at Carlisle and looks a good prospect. She can take this step up in class in herstride and remain unbeaten. Charisma Cat is an obvious player after making it 2-2 at Warwick, while Dan Skelton, who has a good squad of bumper horses this season, has a strong hand with Getawhisky and Settle Down Jill. Dream Shadow and sole 4-y-o Chatty Girl must also be in calculations. TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.SMILE

AWAYTHELAD: Following its run on 28/12/2024 it was reported that the horse was never travelling.

Probable S.P’s: 9-2 Jeffery’s Cross (IRE), 5-1 Eyed (GB), 8-1 Knockanore (IRE), 10-1 Magical Escape (IRE), Peejaybee (FR), 11-1 Geryville (FR), 12-1 Awaythelad (IRE), 14-1 Rock Danse (FR), 16-1 Giovanni Change (FR), 18-1 Chosen Templar (IRE), 28-1 Just Loose Change (GB), 40-1 Gold Link (FR)

Save for his early exit last time, EYED has made a very positive start for this yard and a 9lb rise for his breakthrough success over fences here in November may not be enough to stop him. Jeffery’s Cross put in a decent shift back from a lengthy absence at Windsor and he is greatly respected, while Geryville andAwaythelad have both edged down to attractive marks and will be dangerous ifon-song.
