OLLY MURS SATURDAY 14 AUGUST RICK ASTLEY SATURDAY 18 SEPTEMBER TICKETS ON SALE NOW REFUND GUARANTEE
Good evening and a very warm welcome to the first of our Gin Thursday Evening Fixtures which run across three Thursday evenings throughout July. We have had to slightly alter this evening’s Gin Garden experience in line with government restrictions, but please do pay a visit to the Many Clouds Gin Bar where you will find over 25 speciality gins on offer and all G&T’s are just £6! You can also enjoy some live acoustic music on the Crafty Filly Terrace throughout the evening. Tonight though, is about the remarkable team of volunteers and surgery staff who formed part of the successful and efficient vaccination of over 66,000 of West Berkshire’s most vulnerable and elderly here at Newbury Racecourse since mid-January. I am sure you will agree that every single person involved is an absolute credit to the community, selflessly giving up their time to help conquer the COVID-19 pandemic and we are so pleased to be able to welcome many of them here this evening – you are all quite brilliant! I do hope everyone will join us around the parade ring following the fourth race, The Newbury Racecourse Vaccination Volunteers Handicap for a round of applause to celebrate these community heroes. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank sponsors, BetVictor and Compton Beauchamp Estates Ltd, for their generous support of tonight’s card. Summer is well underway here at Newbury, and despite the extension of the 4,000-capacity ruling, there is plenty to look forward to over the next two months. Our Gin Thursday series continues across 8 and 22 July, whilst our Party in the Paddock events kick off on Saturday 14 August with Olly Murs live after racing. We will then look forward to welcoming Rick Astley on Saturday 18 September, with tickets for all events available to book through our website, and a money back guarantee in place on all tickets if the event is cancelled due to COVID. Thank you for choosing to spend your evening with us. I hope you have an enjoyable and profitable time, and that you will be back with us again very soon.

Betting Forecast: 7-2 Fav Muneer (GB), 6-1 Mazyoonah (GB), 13-2 Abiyah Athbah (GB), 7-1 Al Khaleejy (GB), 15-2 Nadelshiba (FR), 10-1 Storm Troupour (US), 10-1 Tijaary (FR), 12-1 Kao Kat Mhf (US), 14-1 Jamaraat (GB), 16-1 Mlatem Athbah (GB), 25-1 Upstart Crow (GB), 50-1 Kaymeleon (GB) Race Summary: Some seasoned Group performers facing potential young improvers who could capitalise on their weight allowances. 2019 winner and runner-up, Kao Kat MHF and Storm Troupour, both have form on easy ground but look vulnerable to younger runners. Muneer won well over a mile, quickly making-up lost lengths when drifting across Al Khaleejy at the finish. Both look potentially smart and should improve, but this is a big ask for juveniles. Abiyah Athbah’s connections are keen to try her over shorter but have bigger targets than this and easy ground is an unknown. Also with questions to answer over underfoot conditions is MAZYOONAH, but she has plenty of speed at this trip and further, and may be one to take a chance on.

Next on the list is the progressive Ice Station Zebra, who displayed a willing attitude on her Kempton reappearance and remains with potential.
