ETHAN GRANDE PROFILES A PLAYER WHO HAS REPRESENTED BOTH THE COBBLERS AND TODAY’S OPPONENTS

Daryl Burgess began his footballing career at West Brom and he made his debut in 1989. In all, he spent 12 seasons at The Hawthorns and played nearly 400 first-team games.

He was released in 2001 when he joined the Cobblers, but his two seasons at Northampton were spent fighting relegation and he played under three different managers.

He was released in 2003 when the club fell back to Division Three, where he joined Rochdale and he went on to make 55 appearances.

He played against the Cobblers for the Spotland outfit and didn't enjoy a great afternoon. He scored an own goal, gave away a penalty and was sent off although the dismissal was later rescinded.

He then moved back to the midlands and joined Kidderminster for a season then moved to Nuneaton. He later joined Bromsgrove.

In 2008 he set up a coaching school called ‘Total football premier coaching’ with Richard Sneekes. He now lives in Birmingham and goes around the country as a DJ.
