It could be worth chancing TRAVEL CANDY, who lurks on a very tempting mark aùer a quiet year and shaped with more promise at Redcar last time. Alafdhal, successful here in April and runner-up on his last 3 starts, including back over C&D, is an obvious contender. Willolarupi and Music Society complete the shortlist.

POSITION OF STALLS
Unless an announcement is made to the contrary, Starting Stalls will be positioned against the INSIDE RUNNING RAIL for all races.
HBLB
The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £116,926 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from 16th September to 31st December 2024.
Today, being the 7th October, Myra and Stuart celebrate 25 years since the date of their first official “encounter”, a romance which has endured the birth of their son Jamie and marriage ceremony on the idyllic Greek island of Santorini.
Previous such anniversary celebrations have taken in attending an Alice Cooper concert, going to the “Dogs” at Sheffield, an over-night spent at a haunted castle and a rugby trip to Toulouse in France, as well as the occasional revisit to the Frankie & Benny’s in Leeds to commemorate that first momentous evening!
Today the pair will celebrate, in hospitality at Pontefract Races, by sponsoring a race named after the occasion which they wish to honour, this hopefully being a romantic surprise for one of them.
Wishing Myra and Stuart all the best celebrating 25 years together and here’s to the next twenty-five years!
