Launched as a result of the Chamber’s 2018 Strategic Planning sessions, board leaders from SouthEast Bank and TDS Telecom worked with chamber staff to present the concept of a young professionals initiative specifically for the Farragut West Knox area. The first event to gauge interest was held in Farragut in May 2019, to resoundingly positive reception. Two more events were held before a small committee of area professionals was hand-selected to continue evolving the program.

In under a year, the program created its own brand, established committee roles/meeting schedules, and held more unique events for up and coming professionals/leaders.

West Under 40’s goals for 2021 are to provide more opportunities for young professionals to connect, learn, grow as individuals and within their industries, and give back to their community. Or, as one of our founding committee members says, “Be more than a business card.”
