A Spirited

COMMUNITY At Emmanuel, you will quickly become immersed in the life of our campus as an active member and leader in student clubs and organizations, community service programs, varsity athletics, club sports and more. It will be as if you’ve been a Saint all along. T R A N S F E R ST U D E N T : JA M I E B E H R E N T ’19 Communication & media studies major Jamie Behrent began her college career at a school just outside the city of Boston. By the end of her first semester, she knew it wasn’t the right fit for her. A native of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Jamie has always considered herself “a city girl,” and decided she didn’t want to be on the outskirts of Boston—she wanted to be in the heart of the city. While visiting Emmanuel, Jamie was struck by the energy and the sense of community she saw at the College. “Emmanuel is one big family,” says Jamie. “The first thing I noticed when I arrived on campus is that the people here are very positive and welcoming. The advisors, orientation leaders, students and staff genuinely care about me and want to help me succeed. After my first year, I could confidently say that Emmanuel exceeded my expectations.” Jamie affirms transferring to Emmanuel was the best decision she’s made. Her professors are dedicated and her courses are inspiring. She has gained real-world experience as a marketing intern at a small-business consulting firm and as a program strategist at Youth Marketing Connection. And, as a diehard Red Sox fan and a major “foodie,” Jamie says there was no place more perfect for her than Emmanuel, where she is just steps away from Fenway Park and a wide variety of cuisine that’s just waiting to be explored. 4

I was searching for a place where I could be challenged, enlightened and where I could grow to my full potential. I found it at Emmanuel, and I made my mark by getting involved and experiencing as much as possible.
