Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) August 2011 Newsletter The Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) looks forward to welcoming you to campus. Below, please find helpful information to ensure a smooth transition to campus this fall.
In This Issue • Health Insurance • Fall 2011 Tuition Bill • Refunds • Student Employment • Health Insurance
Have you completed the health insurance requirement? If not, please go to www.universityhealthpl ans.com and complete either the waiver or the enrollment form by September 2nd. Students who miss the deadline will automatically be enrolled in the health plan and will be responsible for the $1,456 premium, regardless of whether you have other coverage.
Fall 2011 Tuition Bill Students must be in good financial standing to attend classes and/or move into the residence halls. You can review your account balance and confirm you are paid in full by reviewing your tuition bill through Online Academic Resources (OAR) via the Emmanuel Portal. If you have an outstanding balance, electronic payments may also be made through OAR. Should you have any questions about payment options, please contact our office immediately to avoid any complications with the start of classes and/or moving into the residence halls.
Refunds If you have a pending credit on your account (due to excess private loans and/or overpayment) and wish to request a refund, please complete the Refund Request Form in the “Tuition & Aid” section of the Emmanuel website by selecting “Forms & Publications.” Refund checks will typically be available in mid-October, available after all financial aid funds have been received and disbursed onto each student’s account after the add/drop period. Due to this, refund checks will not be available for students to purchase books or pay for September and October rent.
Student Employment We will begin posting jobs on Friday, September 2nd through Emmanuel College Career Connect (EC3). If you are interested in working on campus, you should start the job search as soon as possible upon arriving on campus. Student employment is not guaranteed and jobs are limited. If you are interested in working, we encourage you to attend the Part-Time Job Fair hosted by the Office of Internships and Career Development. The fair is on Thursday, September 15th at 11:30 a.m. in the Jean Yawkey Center Atrium. Several organizations interested in hiring Emmanuel students for part-time positions will be at the fair. Also, you should bring appropriate identification (U.S. Passport or Drivers License and Social Security Card) and a copy of a voided check so that you can complete the necessary employment paperwork to begin working.
Please check the Student Financial Services section of the Emmanuel Portal frequently to stay informed.
