Introduction Auction: Tuesday 26 July, 2016 Our mid-Winter catalogue offers an outstanding selection of Fine Wines to please every palate and pocket. Highlights include: a vertical of Te Mata Bullnose featuring every vintage produced from 1992 (except 1994, which was not produced), all cellared at Te Mata; a Penfolds Grange vertical since 1990 to 2001 inclusive; multiple First Growth Bordeaux from the incredibly impressive 1982 vintage; and a collection of older South African wines offered at ‘no reserve’, with indicative estimates included. Find yourself a good buy from iconic estates in South Africa, which are rarely available today. We are also excited to announce a forthcoming auction to take place on Tuesday 20 September. We will be offering the cellar list from one of New Zealand’s finest dining restaurants; Saggio di Vino. The cellar list, formed by the Christchurch restaurant over a 25-year period, comprises of fabulous well-cellared wines to enhance any cellar. This month, we welcome Jemma Grobbelaar to Mossgreen-Webb's. Jemma discovered her passion for wine while working in various roles at Vergelegen Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She is currently in her second year of the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, Level 4 Diploma studying towards a Master of Wine. She is also currently on the Court of Master Sommeliers Education programme and has recently passed her introductory Sommelier Certificate. Jemma will be assisting myself in Auckland as I look to initiate the Fine Wine auctions at Mossgreen in Melbourne.

Yering Station
is located in the picturesque
Yarra Valley and was originally established in 1838 as Victoria’s first vineyard. The property hosts a stunning Wine Bar Restaurant located within a spectacular stone and glass building with expansive views of the Yarra Ranges; the original winery has been converted into the Cellar Door, there is also a Produce Store, a dynamic Art Gallery and Matt’s Bar as the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the immaculate gardens. Yering Station is dedicated to crafting wines of quality and distinction, culminating in the prestigious Yering Station Reserve and Scarlett wines. These wines are produced in only the very best years and in only very limited quantities. The wines are the result of precision viticulture, which is the latest and most advanced technology that assists the winemaking team to identify exceptional batches of fruit within the vineyards.
Yering Station is proud to support Mossgreen and Mossgreen-Webbs.

KEY Ratings We have used ratings from a number of well known wine writers. RP (Robert Parker), WE (Wine Enthusiast), WS (Wine Spectator), ST (Stephen Tanzer), BC (Bob Cambell MW), JS (James Suckling ) and JH (James Haliday) scores are a rating out of 100. JR (Jancis Robinson MW) and D (Decanter) are scores out of 20. Ullage The term that refers to the gap between the bottom of the cork and the fill level of the wine. All wines listed in this catalogue have Ullage level of “Into Neck or higher. If the level is lower it is stated in the catalogue.
TS (Top shoulder)-A good level in any wine 20 years or older.
US (Upper shoulder)-Indicates slight natural reduction through easing of the cork and evaporation through cork and capsule.
MS (Mid-shoulder)-Indicates some weakening of the cork and therefore some risk. This is not unusual in wines over 50 years old and estimates will take this into account.
LMS (Low-mid shoulder)-Indicates high risk and will attract low estimates.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS OF SALES VIEWING TIMES
Viewing by appointment.
BUYER’S PREMIUM
Buyers shall pay to Mossgreen-Webb's a buyer’s premium of 17.5% of the hammer price plus GST on the premium. The sale is subject to the Conditions of Business printed elsewhere in this catalogue.
CONDITION OF WINE
Goods are described as accurately as can be ascertained by Mossgreen-Webb's at the time, however Buyers of older wine must make appropriate allowances for natural variations of ullage and the condition of corks and labels. Mossgreen-Webb's has made every effort to describe any bottle that is not in excellent condition. Each Lot is sold by the Seller with all faults and defects (if any) and with all errors of description and shall be at the Buyer’s risk on the fall of the hammer and neither Mossgreen-Webb's nor the Seller shall be accountable for any deficiency, damage or loss which may arise thereafter.
CONDITIONS OF SALE FOR BUYERS
Please refer to www.mossgreen-webbs.co.nz for The Terms and Conditions For Buyers. The Terms and Conditions For Buyers can also be viewed in the Mossgreen-Webb's sale room.
BIDDING
All bids and price estimates are per bottle (excepting sets), not per lot. For example if you make a bid of $10 per bottle on a lot containing 12 bottles you are making a total bid of $120. All prices are in New Zealand dollars. Successful bids attract a 17.5% Buyer’s Premium plus GST (only on the BP). Bidding is per bottle and you must take the entire lot on offer unless the auctioneer states otherwise. All wines are checked prior to consignment. Phone bidding is by prior arrangement with minimum bid of $500. Payment is Cash, Bank Cheque, Credit Card, EFTPOS or Money Transfer.
ONLINE BIDDING
We now offer an online bidding service which is available from at least one week prior to the sale date and closes midday on the day of the sale. Note: We accept Visa and MasterCard for all wine purchases in this auction. AMEX is also accepted, however at an addition of 2%. Payment must be cleared prior to collection of wine and is due at the end of the week of the sale, at the latest. This includes all buyers either Absentee Bidders or those present on the night. Please fill out your Absentee Bidding Form carefully to ensure it is correct.
COLLECTION
Wine can be collected from Mossgreen-Webb's on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 12.00pm and 5.00pm. Please call 09 524 6804 before collecting to ensure your wines are ready for you. Wine will be available for collection the Monday following an auction. A buyer’s premium of 17.5% will be charged on all items in this sale, GST (15%) is payable on the buyer’s premium only.
MATURE YOUR WINE AS THE WINEMAKER INTENDED
You have purchased some of the best wine in the world through Mossgreen-Webb’s Fine & Rare Wine auctions. Now you can bring that wine to perfect maturity by using a EuroCave cellar conditioner. Your cellar should emulate the conditions of the wine caves in Europe where the temperature is consistent between 13 and 14 degrees all year round and the humidity is between 55% and 75%. Standard air conditioners do not keep temperature sufficiently low and do not adequately control humidity. Eurocave cellar conditioners are designed and built in France specifically for this purpose. Don’t put your precious wine collection at risk – invest in a EuroCave cellar conditioner. For further information please contact Mossgreen-Webb’s wine specialist, Reece Warren.
