Car parking is allowed at members' and visitors' risk only in the main car park and designated grass area within the ground. Parking is prohibited around the outfield. In the interests of safety, members are asked to observe a 5 mph speed limit on approach to and within the ground. Members are asked to leave the club quietly to avoid disturbing local residents. Club House is available to members for private hire at the discretion of the committee. For details contact the House Chairman.

PRINCE OF WALES CRICKET CLUB The Club was founded in 1926 having evolved from an early morning school in Hospital Street, Hockley. Funded by Dame Cadbury and the Quakers, an old pub was converted into a club where young men were taught to read and write before the 1st World War. Len Hales (my uncle) founded the cricket team and the building became a youth club during the 2nd World War. My parents, Jim and Lil Wright, were caretakers of the club by 1949 and Jim's involvement continued until his death in 2000; as player, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. I have continued to run the Club to the present day. Prince of Wales played in the Birmingham Parks League for 70 years before joining the Birmingham Business Houses League until its folding, whereupon the Club joined the Warwickshire Cricket League some 12 years ago. Prince of Wales CC played at the Lucas Sports Ground, Moor Lane, Perry Barr until we moved to the S.U.R.M. Ground in Tamworth Road. I had played regularly for Sutton U.R.M. and my father and I recognised the opportunity of securing a permanent home when the ground became vacant for a season.
