BOURNS BSD SERIES SILICON CARBIDE (SIC) SCHOTTKY BARRIER DIODE (SBD)
Bourns is pleased to expand its model BSD Series Silicon Carbide (SiC) Schottky Barrier Diode (SBD) product family. These new BSD models are designed for today’s more demanding high frequency and high current applications that require increased peak forward surge capability, low forward voltage drop, reduced thermal resistance and low power loss. The advanced wide band gap components are ideal power conversion solutions to help increase reliability, switching performance and efficiency in applications such as DC-DC and AC-DC converters, Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), photovoltaic inverters, motor drives and other rectification applications. In addition to offering 650V and 1200V voltage operation with currents in the from 5A to 10A range, the new BSD models feature no reverse recovery current to reduce EMI, enabling these SiC SBDs to significantly lower energy losses, further increasing efficiency. Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the model CG0201MLU series chipGuard® ESD suppressor. The Model CG0201MLU series chipGuard® ESD suppressor is an ultralow capacitance single channel ESD protector designed to safeguard sensitive electronics from damage caused by electrostatic discharges.

BOURNS MH2029-T SERIES HIGH CURRENT FERRITE BEADS
Bourns magnetics product line is introducing the model MH2029-T series high current ferrite beads. These new models offer a compact size, low profile, and low DCR with rated current up to 8A. They also feature high impedance to suppress high frequency noise in high density printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies at a low cost.
The model MH2029-T series is available in an SMD 0805 size and can operate in temperatures ranging from -55°C to +125°C. Due to their compact size and high current capability, these ferrite beads are also well suited for EMI suppression in wearable devices, HDDs, SSDs, LCD displays, tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices, in addition to their use in power line applications.

BOURNS SM91536AL SERIES TRANSFORMER
Bourns magnetics product line is pleased to introduce the model SM91536AL AEC-Q200 compliant, automotive grade BMS (Battery Management System) signal transformer. This single channel, reinforced insulation transformer includes common mode chokes for noise rejection for BMS applications.

Bourns magnetics product line is pleased to introduce the model SM91806AL AEC-Q200 compliant, Automotive Grade BMS (Battery Management System) signal transformer for nextgeneration applications. This single-channel basic insulation transformer has a planar structure and is designed for BMS applications.

KEMET announces A780 surface mount conductive polymer hybrid capacitors. KEMET’s A780 is a surface mount conductive polymer hybrid capacitor with outstanding electrical performance. The A780 winding is housed in a cylindrical aluminum can with a high/quality rubber deck. Low ESR is conditioned by a highly conductive polymer (PEDOT/PSS). TERMINATION (FT-CAP) MULTILAYER CERAMIC CAPACITOR IN X7R DIELECTRIC
The KEMET Flexible Termination (FT-CAP) multilayer ceramic capacitor in X7R dielectric incorporates a unique, flexible termination system that is integrated with the KEMET standard termination materials. A conductive silver epoxy is utilized between the base metal and nickel barrier layers of KEMET’s standard termination system in order to establish pliability, while maintaining terminal strength, solderability and electrical performance. This technology was developed in order to address the primary failure mode of MLCCs – flex cracks, which are typically the result of excessive tensile and shear stresses produced during board flexure and thermal cycling. Flexible termination technology inhibits the transfer of board stress to the rigid ceramic body, therefore mitigating flex cracks which can result in low IR or short circuit failures.
Although this technology does not eliminate the potential for mechanical damage that may propagate during extreme environmental and handling conditions, it does provide superior flex performance over standard termination systems. FT-CAP complements the KEMET Open Mode, Floating Electrode (FE-CAP), Floating Electrode with Flexible Termination (FF-CAP) and KEMET Power Solutions (KPS) product lines by providing a complete portfolio of flex mitigation solutions. Combined with the stability of an X7R dielectric and designed to accommodate all capacitance requirements, these flex- robust devices are RoHS-compliant, offer up to 5mm of flex-bend capability and exhibit a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage. KEMET’s High Reliability Alternative (HRA) series is designed, tested, and screened to meet the demands of higher reliability applications that require capacitance values not available in traditional MIL-SPEC products. By utilizing KEMET’s patented Base Metal Electrode (BME) technology, the X-Level HRA series provides up to five times the capacitance values as compared to what’s available in MIL-PRF-32535 allowing for reduced board space and continuing the trend for miniaturization. KEMET T52X AND T530 SERIES
The KEMET organic capacitor (KO-CAP) is a solid electrolytic capacitor with a conductive polymer cathode capable of delivering very low ESR and improved capacitance retention at high frequencies. KO-CAP combines the low ESR of multilayer ceramic, the high capacitance of aluminum electrolytic, and the volumetric efficiency of tantalum into a single surface mount package. TDK corporation presents the B3271*H* series, new EPCOS film capacitors for DC link applications that feature high energy and power density. The capacitors are rated for voltages from 500V DC to 1600V DC, offer capacitance values from 0.47μF to 170μF and are suitable for a maximum operating temperature of up to 105°C. At a rated voltage and operating temperature of 70°C, the typical life of the rugged, self-healing and RoHS-compliant capacitors is 95,000 hours.
The capacitors are available in lead spacings of 27.5mm, 37.5mm and 52.5mm, with both 2-pole and 4-pole versions. This results in more than 90 types, offering high design flexibility. For the selection of the suitable DC link capacitor TDK offers the tool CLARA.
The low self-inductances of only from 11.5nH to 23nH combined with the high ripple current capability make the new capacitors particularly well suited for SiC-based inverters operating at high switching frequencies. The series is qualified to IEC 61071, AEC-Q200 as well as UL 810 and enables use in typical industrial applications such as frequency converters, photovoltaic inverters, EV fast chargers and automotive applications such as onboard chargers and auxiliary and power inverters.

TDK corporation has developed the J404, the world’s first* surface-mountable inrush current limiter (ICL) based on PTC (positive temperature coefficient) technology. Designed for DC voltages of up to 500V and AC voltages of up to 350V, the device (order number B59404J0170A062) automatically and intrinsically limits excessive currents in applications such as DC links and charging devices in electromobility.
Due to the very compact dimensions of 13.5mm x 10mm x 11mm (L x W x H), users can save up to 70% space and weight on the PCB with this surface-mount design. The components can also be processed quickly in automated production lines. As a result, the new component is ideally suited for numerous industrial and automotive applications.
The reference temperature at which the device becomes highly resistive is +170°C, with a heat capacity of 1 J/K and a thermal time constant of 100s. At room temperature, the electrical resistance is 500Ω, with a minimum value of 150Ω. The J404 can switch off a defect (short circuit) up to 100times, and up to 100,000cycles when charging and discharging capacitors.
Large capacitors in DC link circuits, found in e-mobility inverters or variable-speed drives in industrial applications, act temporarily like a short circuit at the moment they are switched on. This high energy must not damage other components in the system; the same applies in the event of a defect. A PTC thermistor provides such protection by heating itself due to the high current and becoming highly resistive in a very short time, thereby reducing the current to a safe level.

The new A-Series offers the industry’s widest range of AEC-Q200-compliant antennas for automotive applications, including wireless battery management systems, telematics control units, and vehicle access key fobs.
The new A-Series low-profile SMT antennas are qualified according to AEC-Q200 standards and offer the industry’s widest range of AEC-Q200-compliant antennas for automotive applications, including wireless battery management systems, telematics control units, and vehicle access key fobs. They support a wide range of wireless technologies — including GNSS L1/L2/L5/L6, ISM, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, cellular, LTE, 5G, and UWB — and offer frequencies extending from 617MHz to 8.5GHz. The surface-mount devices are also designed to deliver superior RF field containment for improved performance in reception-critical applications and available in stamped metal, FR-4, ceramic chip, and ultra-small chip packages, all of which are RoHS compliant.
Although the automotive industry quality standard AEC-Q200 does not include antenna products, all testing for the A-Series devices has been done in accordance with AEC-Q200 procedures and requirements, including automotive-grade testing for temperature cycling, mechanical shock, and vibration. The A-Series is also available with International Material Data System (IMDS) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation valuable to automotive manufacturers.
Some of the new A-Series antennas also feature KYOCERA AVX’s Isolated Magnetic Dipole® (IMD) technology, which allows them to deliver higher functionality and performance in smaller and thinner designs. In addition, two of those antennas (the A1001013 and A1001011) can operate both on- and off-ground. This capability is critical for heavily metallic environments, such as wireless battery management systems (wBMS), where the antenna provides wireless communication between the battery cell monitor chip and the BMS control unit.
“The new A-Series provides automotive design engineers with reliable, high-performance antennas tested in accordance with AEC-Q200 standards, and manufacturers are already taking note,” said Carmen Redondo, Director of Global Marketing for Antennas at KYOCERA AVX. “One of the A-Series antennas, the A1001013, has been selected for inclusion in Analog Devices’ (ADI) wireless battery management system (wBMS) reference design, based in part on its unique ability to operate in both off-ground and on-ground environments.”
Global semiconductor leader ADI is committed to the development of a robust information ecosystem around EV battery data. ADI’s wBMS, which is currently being deployed across multiple EV platforms, boasts ISO 21434 Cybersecurity Assurance Level Four (CAL 4) certification and is an industry benchmark for RF robustness and efficiency. So, the inclusion of KYOCERA AVX A-Series antennas is evidence of their exceptionally high quality level.

ICU-20201 is a miniature, ultra-low power, long-range ultrasonic Time-of-Flight (ToF) transceiver. Based on Chirp’s patented MEMS technology, the ICU-20201 is a system-in package that integrates a nominally 85kHz PMUT (Piezoelectric Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducer) together with a 2nd generation ultra-low power SoC (System on Chip) in a miniature, reflowable package.
The SoC is designed for overall low system power and for ease of use with external host processors. Low power is achieved through custom digital circuitry to process and buffer the raw sensor readings. This keeps the integrated microcontroller in a low power idle state until needed. For ease of use, the microcontroller can process the raw sensor readings into high level signals, such as range to nearby target(s), or events, such as presence, which can be directly read by the host processor. The SoC communicates with the host processor over SPI at up to 13MHz. Complementing Chirp’s other ultrasonic ToF sensor products, ICU-20201 provides accurate range measurements to targets at distances up to 5m. Based on ultrasonic pulse-echo measurements, the sensor works in any lighting condition, including full sunlight, and provides millimeter-accurate range measurements independent of the target’s color and optical transparency. The sensor’s Field-Of-View (FOV) can be customized and enables simultaneous range measurements to multiple objects in the FOV. Several available algorithms can further process the echo information for a variety of usage cases in a range of applications (listed below).

TDK TAD2143 360 °C ANGLE SENSOR
TAD2143 is a TMR angle sensor which allows absolute angle measurement up to 360°. Based on the Tunnel Magneto-Resistance (TMR) effect, it offers high sensitivity and best angle accuracy needed for de- manding industrial applications. The internal digital signal processing allows outstanding angular measurement performance. Stability in a wide range of temperature and magnetic field variations is also achieved.

This makes the IP65 or IP67 protected sensor with the order number B59110W2111W032 immune to external mechanical vibrations that can falsify the measurement result. The module, which is supplied with a nominal voltage of 12V, can be mounted in a front chassis via a M19 thread with a locking nut or via snap hooks.
Actuated via a driver and an integrated piezoelectric disk, the integrated signal processor ASIC can calculate the signal propagation time with a repetition rate of up to 50 samples/s. This allows measuring distances from 18cm to 200cm; in pitch-and-catch mode with several modules, even measuring distances of 4cm are feasible. The field-of-view (FoV) of the USSM1.0 PLUS-FS, which the customer can optimize to suit his needs, is ±35°C. Thus, individual measurement scenarios can also be programmed. TE Connectivity’s (TE) LUMAWISE motion sensor logic output is an analog version of TE Connectivity’s (TE) popular LUMAWISE motion sensor designed for streetlighting. When paired with a networked lighting controller, NLC (not included), enables energy savings from dimming the luminaire, while still being able to react to motion and bring a luminaire to a higher brightness for safety and security reasons.
LUMAWISE motion sensor logic output is powered from a NLC and will provide it with a high signal upon detecting motion. In turn the NLC can then send the appropriate 0-10V signal to a driver, controlling the light output. The device also has the capability to provide the NLC with analog ambient light measurements.
