Pappagallo offers you a feast from traditional Italian fare to sophisticated and inventive pizzas, pastas and risotto dishes. The freshness and quality of ingredients is definitely worth a mention. Together with a traditional Italian ambiance and the aroma of authentic Italian cuisine wafting through the air, if you close your eyes for just a ‘memento’ you will be mentally transported to Italy and may even be tempted to burst into a rendition of “O Solo Mio”.

C u lt u ral Experiences
The Resort hosts a weekly Fijian and Polynesian night at the Fijian Village Entertainment Centre providing the perfect opportunity to observe the unique art and dance forms of Fiji and its Pacific neighbours. Be mesmerized as Fijian villagers perform the meke (traditional song and dance) and be enlightened as to the stories and meanings behind this art form. Or put on a sulu and join the fun.
Firewalking Old Fijian folklore relates that over five hundred years ago the men of Beqa Island were given the gift to walk on fire by an eel God in exchange for its life. Today the descendants of those Fijian warriors carry on the tradition by observing the tabu (forbidden) rules just as their ancestors did. The men chant and sing traditional Fijian mantra in preparation for their walk across the red hot stones leaving guests completely baffled as they emerge unharmed. Fire walking is a unique phenomenon and definitely not something to be missed. The Warwick Fiji hosts two fire walking ceremonies a week in our Fijian Village Entertainment Centre. Share a bowl of kava with the locals while you enjoy the experience.
Cultural Exhibition and Tours Fiji is one of the few places in the world that has retained its rich traditional customs. The best way to experience Fiji in its original form is to head inland to a traditional Fijian village. Here you will observe the rich cultural heritage of the Fijian people at times little changed from its historic past.

The Coast is an 80km stretch of Fiji’s finest beaches and covers the spectacular ocean side drive between Nadi and Suva. Many believe that the Coral coast was the birth place of tourism in Fiji. The tourism industry started when the Korolevu Beach Hotel was built by Fiji’s pioneer hotelier Bill Clarke on 76 acres of prime real estate in the 1950s. The rich green vegetation and majestic white sandy beaches coupled with show stopping sunsets was an immediate hit amongst Colonial expatriates from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The Korolevu Beach Hotel closed many years ago but it left behind a legacy as guests from around the world continue to come to experience natures unique offering, ‘The Coral Coast’.

Sigatoka Town Sigatoka is the largest town on the Coral Coast and serves as a commercial hub for farming communities that grow sugarcane and produce upriver in the fertile Sigatoka Valley. Sigatoka is a popular day trip venue from Resorts in Nadi and the Coral Coast due to its striking riverside location. There is a bustling produce market in the heart of town, a few souvenir shops, a large mosque and a fantasy-style, privately Hare Krishna mansion perched on the top of a hill. The Sigatoka River, the second largest in Fiji, flows along the eastern edge of town and is host to the famous Coral Coast Bilibili race held every year in October on the Fiji Day Celebration.
Kula Eco Park Just a 23 minute drive from The Warwick Fiji you will find Fiji’s only wildlife park, Kula Eco Park. The wildlife sanctuary is a showcase of the furry, feathered and aquatic amphibians of the South Pacific. The park was built with an eco-friendly fashion concept to reflect the natural habitat of the local wildlife. The park is built around a hillside and valley forest which can be explored from the extensive wooden walkways to the elevated pathway through the unspoilt forest. The sight, smell and sounds of nature entice and fascinate from every direction. The park is home to hundreds of species of indigenous Fiji birdlife with iguanas, lizards, Boa Constrictors, topical fish, turtles and Fiji endemic Flying Foxes. This diverse collection of creatures is hosted by lush botanical gardens intertwined with local flora, fruit and medicinal plants and trees. The ecological reserve has also established a captive breeding program for some of Fiji’s endangered wildlife species. This popular attraction has won many awards for tourism, as well as raising awareness on the environment, ecosystems and nature conservation.

Sigatoka Valley Sigatoka often referred to as ‘Fiji’s Salad Bowl’ is the closest town to The Warwick Fiji, located about 28km from the Resort. Sigatoka is famous for producing some of the finest fruit and vegetables in Fiji. If you are taking a bus tour or driving yourself, we recommend you head inland from the west bank of the Sigatoka River. Along the way you will pass through the villages of Lawai and Nabuta who are happy to welcome guests to their villages and offer a range of authentic handicrafts and pottery for sale. If you are not anxious about high altitudes, the drive past Nabuta, climbing along a steeply narrow road, makes way for a magnificent panoramic view of Sigatoka Valley.
Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park One of Fiji’s most magnificent natural wonders, the Sigatoka Dunes national Park, is a windblown 5km by 1km wide by around 20 metres high, natural sand dunes. The dunes have been formed over millions of years and are the source of many folk stories and legends. Archaeological excavations at the sand dunes have uncovered pottery more than 2600 years old as well as the largest burial sites in the Pacific bringing to light the pre-civilisation history of Fiji. The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is Fiji’s first national park and was established in 1987 to protect this natural heritage site. The park is open daily from 8am to 5pm and is managed by local Park Rangers who are happy to provide you with information and give advice on navigating the walking tracks.

Pacific Harbour Labelled the Adventure Capital of Fiji; you reach Pacific Harbour after leaving the glorious undulating hills of Korolevu as the Queens Road sweeps across a small bridge. Pacific Harbour lives up to its Adventure Capital of Fiji reputation as a Mecca for adrenaline junkies, offering activities to get your blood pumping ranging from shark feeding to white water rafting. If an adrenaline rush is not your thing try a round of golf on the 18-hole championship course designed by the great American golfer Peter Thomson or perhaps enjoy some sport fishing.
Activities Action and adventure is the heart and soul of Pacific Harbour with so much on offer it’s difficult to know where to start. Shark-feeding dives, four wheel drive adventures and jet skiing are just a few of the activities available for those who like their leisure time a little racier. For the more laid-back there’s an excellent Arts Village featuring food and crafts and authentic cultural shows.
Things to Do • Rivers Fiji - Rivers offers excellent kayaking and white-water rafting trips into the Namosi Highlands north of Pacific Harbour • Arts Village - Visit a traditional Fijian Village with a temple, chiefly bure, a cooking area with traditional utensils and a hut demonstrating the art of weaving. Fijian actors dressed in traditional costumes carry out mock battles, preach pagan religion and demonstrate traditional arts. • Beqa Adventure Divers - Has shark-feeding dives on Monday to Saturday • Jetski Tours takes travellers on a four-hour, full-throttle, 60km jet-ski Beqa Lagoon tour • Zip Fiji- this lets squealing thrill-seekers whoosh from one platform to another in a series of 8 Zip lines in a three hour rainforest canopy tour • Pearl Championship Golf Course - a world class golf course

Warwick Fiji Practices The Principles Of The 3R’s: 1. Reduce waste where possible by thinking about what we buy and how we use it: • Non essential documents and emails will not be printed. • Annually review which internal documents and external publications are essential, if they are not they will be cancelled thus reducing waste and saving money. • Endeavour to avoid disposable cups and food packaging bought by The Warwick Fiji for events • Ensure all printing and photocopying is done on double sided paper. 2. Reuse wherever possible by trying to find a second life for items especially paper and office stationary. • Scrap paper will be used in printers, fax machines, for taking messages and for writing notes or draft copies of documents. • Envelopes and packaging will be reused where possible. 3. Recycle as the least preferred option of the 3R’s. The Warwick Fiji has a nominated person who has the responsibility to recycle paper, cardboard. Toner cartridges and ink jets will also be recycled. If office furniture or IT equipment is being replaced then The Warwick Fiji will seek to have those items reused or recycled. Recycled Paper The Warwick Fiji will buy recycled paper; we will endeavour switching all publications and general office papers to 100% post consumer waste recycled papers, any additional purchasing costs will be balanced against reduced consumption. Fair Trade The Warwick Fiji seeks to purchase fair traded and environmentally sound goods. When catering for events, food should be organic and tea and coffee should be fair-traded. Travel The Warwick Fiji promotes the use of cycling and walking as the main means of travel to local meetings. We also ensure the use of public transport for the majority of the journeys. For journeys requiring car sharing, will be encouraged.
Environmental Policy
Energy The Warwick Fiji seeks to minimize the use of energy in its activities. Over time electric light bulbs will be replaced with those that are more energy efficient. Lights and equipment will be switched on only when needed and not out of routine. The Environmental Policy will be reviewed annually. All aspects of the policy are monitored as an ongoing practice. An annual review will be carried out by the Executive committee.
