New for Summer 2017! Water Trampoline and Aquamats on the waterfront at Bear Creek Aquatic Camp!
Troop Camp Plus: New This Year! Traditional troop camping has always been part of the Girl Scout experience. It is one of the very first activities that our founder, Juliette Gordon Low encouraged for girls. Troop camping is planned and carried out by a group of girls and their trained volunteer/leaders. Girls help to decide what activities they want to do, the food they will prepare and the new skill or adventures they want to try while at camp. Camping is fun and a great way to develop a deeper appreciation for nature with your friends. We make summer troop camping easy! Troop Camp Plus at Camp Pennyroyal allows your troop an opportunity to camp out together during the summer and take advantage of a variety of activities offered at camp, including swimming, boating, archery, team’s course, and high ropes.
2017 Outdoor Experiences The Great Outdoors is a perfect place for girls to explore the wonders of nature, try new things, and discover the pleasures of the outdoors while participating in a variety of activities. Council programs in the outdoors are offered nine months out of the year at our 7 camp properties and other outdoor approved venues throughout our council. These outdoor experiences are designed for both individual girls and troops, they are offered to a particular level of Girl Scout based on a theme or badge with outdoor progression in mind. Outdoor progression allows girls to learn the skills they need to be competent in the outdoors. GSK is excited to have you be part of our 2017 Outdoor Programing! We encourage you to review this guide with your Girl Scout by your side to find the experience that best fits you and your camper. Then visit us at gskentuckiana.org to sign her up and then count down the days until the fun begins!
