ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS If you’re aged 19 or over and are thinking about further education or training in England, you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £25,725 a year. What are Advanced Learner Loans? Advanced Learner Loans are to help adult learners manage the costs of further education and training in England. These loans cover tuition fees for a range of Level 3 to Level 6 courses including: A Levels, general and vocational qualifications and Access to Higher Education diplomas. The Student Loans Company pay your loan directly to your college or training provider throughout your study. Can I apply for an Advanced Learner Loan? Getting a loan doesn’t depend on your income and is not subject to credit checks. However, there are certain criteria you must meet to be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. Find out whether you’re eligible and apply for an Advanced Learner Loan at GOV.UK. It’s worth checking whether there are any non-repayable bursaries or grants available to help with the extra costs of further education and training courses. If you get a loan, you might be able to get support from the Advanced Learner Loans Bursary Fund.

ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION If you are aged 19 or over, and want to go to university or study at higher education level, an Access to Higher Education programme could be the ideal route for you. These advanced stage programmes are equivalent to three A-levels, which means you can achieve the UCAS points to progress to university-level education. Although the programme is intensive, it is structured in a way that recognises the particular pressures on mature learners. EQUINE There are many equine businesses in the industry including riding schools, livery yards, welfare charities, training yards and racing schools. Merrist Wood College has one of the largest indoor riding arenas in the country and is one of the top training facilities in the south east, as well as being a British Horse Society (BHS) approved training and examination centre.
