A message to the community from Judy Thorslund Chairperson South Whidbey Homeless Coalition In December of last year, while volunteering at Good Cheer Food Bank, it became quite apparent to myself and others there that we were seeing an ever growing number of community members experiencing homelessness. Consequently, in February, many of us who work with and among the homeless here came together and formed the SWHC. Please take a moment to read on and join with us in our work to help provide housing this winter for those neighbors among us without shelter. Thank You, Judy. We are an association of neighbors, including those who are or have experienced homelessness, local activists and advocates, community and faith-based service providers, and others committed to prevent and abate homelessness on South Whidbey, while protecting each individual’s civil rights and filling their immediate needs.
