How to measure:

Measure your horse from the centre of their chest to the furthest point of their hind quarters (nearly to the tail), especially for outdoor rugs. (Please refer to the orange horizontal line on the image above.)

RUG WEIGHT GUIDE

Rugs are defined by their weight, i.e the grammes2 (gsm) of polyfill used. The higher the gsm means there is more insulation squeezed into each square metre, which keeps your horse warmer. The denier of the outer fabric is also significant. Essentially the higher the denier number, the thicker the weave, the stronger the fabric. This will generally be much more durable and potentially have a longer life. Heavyweight 300gsm - 350gsm Mediumweight 200gsm - 250gsm Mid Lightweight 50gsm - 200gsm Lightweight - no filling
