OUR CLUB Our Club has two foundations, the physical and the human. That our building is 40 years old is a testament to those who built it and the physical foundation that they created. The other foundation is the Club membership, it needs to be as solid as our physical foundation for our Club to survive. WHAT IS ON IN AUGUST 2022? President’s Report July/August Dear members, With covid still rearing its ugly head the club is still keeping positive and we are busy working on ways to improve our patronage, we are working on marketing our events and raising funds for the upkeep of the building, which as you can see needs a little tender loving and care as it ages through the years. Many thanks to all of those attending our Friday night Bonegilla Bistro dinner nights and all the Sunday lunches, our Christmas in July events have been a great success and enjoyed by all that attended. A big thankyou to those who have volunteered and helped set up for our club events. I and the committee are very happy to have Lutz Peters and Jon Bowdery back on the team. As you all know the past couple of years have been somewhat ordinary but for the club things are looking good with lots of forward bookings and interest in holding events. Until my next report keep supporting the club and remember to renew your membership as we need and want you as members, if you are able please offer a helping hand wherever possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Our Friday night Bonegilla Bistro are a must with great food and entertainment, also please come and have a great lunch with entertainment on our regular Sunday events. Kind regards, Paul Christiansen. Message from the Secretary On the front page there was mention of our Club having a strong membership foundation. Members can reinforce our foundation in three ways: a. Renewing your membership if you haven’t already done so. The more paid up members we have the stronger our Club becomes. b. Attending our AGM which is due to be held in October. Have your say on the future of the Club. If you have some spare time, consider becoming a Committee member. (More about this lateer in the newsletter) c. Attending Club functions. If you like good food and entertainment come to the Club. Your attendance will help the Club substantially and financially. If you feel you can contribute, please seek us out and talk to us.
