(NaNoWriMo) is the world's largest writing event and nonprofit literary crusade. This annual internet-based creative writing project that takes place every November. NaNoWriMo challenges participants to write 50,000 words of a new novel between November 1 and 30. Despite its name, it accepts entries from around the world. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to get people writing, and to complete a first draft in 30 days. Stay tuned for more information about NaNoWriMo write-ins in the Library.

Learn to Quilt

Learn basic quilting skills by making a 12” x 18” placemat. Templates, batting, and instructions provided. Bring 7 “fat quarters” (18” x 22” squares) of 100% cotton in complementary colors/ patterns; straight pins; a No. 2 pencil; 8-inch sharp fabric scissors; 100% cotton thread; assorted “betweens” needles; a thimble and a bag lunch.
