Seasons of Elegance at The Wilds BY COURTNEY HILL WITH ALISON BALLMAN PHOTOS BY JORDAN LEFFEL PHOTOGRAPHY

As the event planner and stylist for this shoot, it was an absolute joy to work with this team of vendors. This truly showcases of all the vendors' respective talents and skills. We wanted to portray a timeless event. One that was intimate and inviting; genuine and marked with a humble elegance. Utilizing a backdrop like The Wilds made it a dream to style. In the styling and design process, I played off the white shiplap walls, the carefully curated furniture pieces, the hand painted mural by Creative In Bloom, and the wood hues from the handcrafted farmhouse tables. We held the shoot in early October, which inspired our color palette of dusty blues, soft Terra Cotta, and pops of dark burgundy. To warm the table, I pulled in pieces of gold in the plating and silverware to tie together with the stunning centerpieces that For The Beauty Floral created. We collaborated with Farmhouse Cakes for a stacked naked cake with soft gold details. What Alison created was a perfect match to the overall design and style of the shoot. Styling the flat lays was inspired by the thought and detail that went into the invitation suite created by Bloom and Brush Designs. I utilized all the colors of our palette as well as different textures to provide depth and dimension. Jordan Leffel Photography captured our complete depth of feeling, compassion for our respective crafts, and everything we wanted to portray in this shoot. Jordan brought every piece of this shoot together and presented it in the most beautiful and timeless way, inviting the viewer in and inspiring them through picture. 8 // WEDDINGSININDIANA.COM

From Alison of Farmhouse Cakes: "I was particularly inspired by the natural elements and the modern rustic feel of The Wilds. Flowy, neutral linens gave the inspiration behind the golden lattice buttercream details over a semi-naked tiered cake, allowing for a classic and modern rustic feel. Our florist Dani of For The Beauty Floral, had a vision for her floral pieces to adorn the cake and together, we made her vision come to fruition."

AN INTIMATE EARLY WINTER STYLED SHOOT AT NEW JOURNEY FARMS

PHOTOS BY NEW ADVENTURE PRODUCTIONS

+ STYLED +

Nate, with New Adventure Productions, has been a fan favorite with his beautiful submissions. When he sent this wonderful winter styled shoot at Tippecanoe County’s newest wedding and events venue, New Journey Farms, we had to share with you all. Styling your wedding by accenting what your venue already offers is what this shoot encompasses. 16 // WEDDINGSININDIANA.COM

+ STYLED +

New Journey Farms had a sit down with New Adventure Productions about their favorite vendors in the area to work with and who best reflects the venues customer service. Those vendors were invited to come out and participate in the shoot. A lot of talent and experience in one place! We love the high ceilings and dual statement staircase that can be so beautifully decorated but also just gorgeous enough on its own! WEDDINGSININDIANA.COM // 17

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

UNIQUELY CREATED We are putting the SPOTLIGHT on Vida Events and their "uniquely created, perfectly planned" style. Megan and Maria have been friends for years, learning the ins and outs of the wedding industry through wedding catering and wedding and floral design before perfectly teaming up to form Vida Events. The name "Vida" stems from Megan's Italian background and Maria's Peruvian background, meaning "life" in both languages. We love this duo and their skills. We are featuring a creatively vibrant styled shoot and a real wedding--both designed and planned by Vida Events.

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

PERFECTLY PLANNED "There are so many amazing elements that make a wedding day, but I think making it uniquely yours is my favorite challenge. Whether it be a signature cocktail you had from a trip with your fiancĂŠ, to your fur babies on your invitations or being your ring bearers!" - Megan, Vida Events

Vida Events' approach and style always leans towards relaxation. "We love all designs and ideas, but always want our couples to feel like planning their wedding was a walk in the park." Clearly from these images, you can see they are experts at bringing your day together.

"Be in the moment of being engaged to each other, all the little details will fall into place. That's why we're here!" - Vida Events

How To Keep Your Bridal Space Organized On Your Wedding Day ORGANIZATION IS KEY FOR EVERY WEDDING DAY. WE ARE SHARING SOME HELPFUL TIPS ON KEEPING YOUR BRIDAL SPACE TIDY AND ORGANIZED FROM BEGINNING TO END ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. by Amanda-Lynn Porta

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

What is a "Bridal Space?" A Bridal space is the immediate space or room the bride and her bridal party are occupying. Venues have bridal suites, or getting ready rooms, where a bridal party can be with all their belongings. Enjoying mimosas during hair and makeup leads to great times and laughs. Sometimes, the room begins to look like you signed a 12-month lease instead of a few hours! Space can get limited. This leads to piles of clothes, hairbrushes, glasses, undergarments, purses, bags, shoes, socks and anything else ladies bring with them to get ready for special events. The last thing you want to look back on are the beautiful images of you and the piles of stuff around you.

For easy grab-n-go clean up at the end of the night, here are some helpful tips to stay organized throughout the day:

1. Ask about storage space for belongings Some venues provide a room with cubbies or a closet with hangers and shelves. In the event that your venue has a beautiful space but is limited on storage, make sure to inform your bridal party and suggest they limit what they bring. 2. Garment bags If you know you will only have hanging space in your venue for personal belongings, consider purchasing garment bags for you and the bridal party. You can find elegant ones on

26 // WEDDINGSININDIANA.COM

Amazon. They can be used as part of the bridal party gift too! This will help eliminate excess items if they only bring what will fit in the garment bag. Then, when it's time to tidy up before walking down the aisle, they put their things in the garment bag, ready to grabn-go later at the end of the night! 3. Plastic Totes To go into the day prepared, inform the bridal party that all their belongings they bring must fit into a plastic tote. You probably already have some around the house. They are easy to load in, easy to store, and discreet, and easy to load out at the end of the night. Plus all the bridal party phones and other personal belongings can be placed in the tote for your ceremony--a little extra security.

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

4. Delegate tidying to your bridal party You're the bride, you shouldn't be lifting a finger on your wedding day. Your photographer, hair and makeup stylists, although they will move what they need to, shouldn't have to tidy either. They focus on getting the glam on and capturing candid moments  you want.  Instead, kindly delegate to your MOH or bridal party to make sure your background space is "photo ready" (this may calm jitters for some brides too!) This may be something that you didn't think about before you landed here. Wedding Days are exciting, memorable and hectic leading up to the "I Dos." Hopefully, these tips help you prepare you and your bridal party for great selfies throughout your day and quick easy clean up at the end of the night!

THE DIFFERENCE: WEDDING PLANNER VS. WEDDING COORDINATOR REAL WEDDING PHOTOS FROM DOVETAIL WEDDINGS Other Vendors: Lisha Wang Photography * Garre Winery

WEDDINGSININDIANA.COM // 29

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

Lisha Wang Photography

Planning your wedding has become more accessible than ever in recent years. Millennials have come to age where they are getting engaged and planning their weddings during the Era of Information. With that, we see a ton of DIY weddings come across our submissions team. With all the accessibility of information, we would love to throw our two cents into the ring and share with you our true insight into bringing your ideal Pinterest board wedding dreams into a spectacular Wedding Day Reality. The bottom line--the need for either a Wedding Planner or a Wedding Day Coordinator

30 // WEDDINGSININDIANA.COMÂ

There is a difference. A Wedding Planner is there for the couple from the beginning. They help you set up and stick to your wedding budget, are involved in the wedding design process and floral design suggestions, and will bring you back to task with your wedding styling per season, venue and budget. Your planner will receive and negotiate vendor contracts, attend tastings, and arrange meetings, photo shoots, walk-throughs and fittings. Planners help arrange your rehearsal and are event coordinating your whole wedding day. By the end of your wedding planning, you have the potential of having a lasting friendship with how closely you can work with your planner!

+ EXPERT ADVICE +

But what's a Wedding Day Coordinator? A Wedding Day Coordinator differs from a planner as they step in closer to the wedding date. Generally this is after you have secured your vendors yourself, purchased all your decor or design elements, sent out wedding invitations, and are just about to begin confirming with your wedding vendors. If you have done most of the heavy lifting, you can feel confident in handing over your self-planned wedding to a professional Wedding Coordinator a few weeks before the wedding day. Your Wedding Coordinator will be there on the wedding day, executing your DIY items and event coordinating. There is value in having either/or. Each one is beneficial for you and your wedding day and is a gift that keeps on giving if the perfect Planner or Coordinator is chosen.

edding planning advice from Morgan, the bride: "Wedding Planning can be incredibly stressful. There is so much to do especially as the day gets closer. My best piece of wedding planning advice is to surround yourself with incredible vendors that you connect with and trust. I worked really hard to find vendors with warm hearts that really understood what I wanted for the day. It came together more beautifully than we ever could have imagined. The best part was that Cory and I never had to worry or stress about anything on the big day. We just got to relax, have fun, and get hitched! It even poured down rain the whole day and dropped 20 degrees that afternoon. The ceremony had to be moved inside, but we had no worries that it would come together and be the most beautiful celebration."

E mily and Brooks were one of our FIRST engagement sessions we ever shared on Weddings In indiana.

Courtney, with Rose Courts Photography, quickly became a talent to tab for us. With that in mind, we were so honored she shared this sweet couple's wedding day months after their engagement session. We love the honor to be able to see from the outside our couples that are shared with us, from engagement session through wedding day! Brooks surprised Emily with an afternoon proposal with "the prettiest ring I had ever seen," according to Emily. We 100% agree and the love the three stone wedding ring Brooks chose for her.

he sentiment that Cassie and Dan incorporated into their wedding day had wells of tears in our eyes. The couple planned their fall wedding in Wabash, Indiana—Cassie's childhood stomping grounds. Their number one focus for their wedding planning was to "marry their best friend" while having an exceptionally fun party came second. From the little touches of Cassie carrying the same wedding clutch her mother carried on her wedding day, to the First Look with held back waterworks and a beautiful NEW bracelet from her future husband, a special pre-aisle waltz father daughter moment, tears of happiness from her husband at the altar, and her uncle officiating, its safe to say THIS is true #weddinggoals.

his vow renewal was absolutely stunning. We've never seen a more angelic and glowy bride than Anna in her mother's earrings (gifted by her father previously) and her bell-sleeved, Calla Blanche wedding gown. The gown flowed down the aisle and laid perfectly inside the Basilica during her vow renewal to Nicolas.  Anna and Nicolas held an intimate wedding ceremony the year before their vow renewal as life unfolded in an exciting way. Shortly after their engagement in New York City, they learned they were expecting! You can see their adorable son in his little tux.
