Abbey Home Farm

“Thank you for a fantastic and unforgettable wedding, it really was everything we wanted it to be and more!”

A

lovely place for both your wedding ceremony and your reception.

For the wild at heart the ceremony can take place at the magical glade in the woods, with maybe a blessing and toasts in the adjacent stone circle afterwards. Then, back to the Green Room to eat and dance. If you prefer, marry on the terrace under the arbour, with the Green Room beside you, in case of wet weather. A wedding at Abbey Home Farm is a brilliant choice for anyone striving to have an environmentally friendly, green wedding. The majority of the food is actually from our farm itself, 100% certified organic, from the Prosecco, to the cake, to the flowers. The centrepiece of our menu is usually home reared beef or pork served with our famous salads. We also welcome veggie / vegan weddings and are used to accommodating special diets. There is Champagne, Cava or Prosecco for welcome drinks and toasts, local ales, cider, lager and spirits, alongside homemade soft drinks

such as blackcurrant and summer fruits cordial from our Garden. Wedding cakes are made in-house and in season may be decorated with strawberries, raspberries and edible flowers. We provide tavle and room flowers, bride bouquets using flowers from our cutting garden or the hedgerows. Getting married at the farm is perfect for couples who are looking for an unusual day (we are NOT a wedding conveyor belt!) run by a relaxed but professional team. You will find that everything is taken care of by us, but to give it that personal touch, most brides and grooms decorate the room a little in their own style. Do note however, that as an organic oasis on a certified farm, all food, drink and flowers must be supplied by us. This may not suit everyone but is the thing for those looking for a truly organic experience. We have ‘on farm’ accommodation for the wedding party, both on and off Grid. Our beautiful old Cotswold stone holiday cottage is the ideal place for the bridal party to get ready. Many brides and grooms head to our romantic shepherd’s hut after their big day - a secluded and quiet space to enjoy their first night as newlyweds. Available for group bookings for guests, we also have the new accommodation in the woods (9 en-suite rooms holding up to 19) a stone’s throw from the dance floor. There are also yurts, huts and a private little campsite. For the carbon footprint conscious, you really will feel at home here, as we strive to lower our footprint and live more lightly on the earth every day. Our green room is heated by a wood chip boiler, the water (from our own bore hole) is warmed by solar thermal and our food is often fair trade and always certified to Soil Association organic standards. So, if you are looking for a truly ethical wedding day then you need look no further! “We are back from our honeymoon now & wanted to say a HUGE BIG thank you for hosting our wedding. We could not be happier with all the work that went into the day. Everyone loved the food, it was so delicious, the cake was really beautifully decorated and the flowers were stunning!” - Jacqui and Jon We can recommend great photographers and local hairdressers.
