Wit h a love for traveling, I am always being inspired by t he world

around me. On my honeymoon in Italy, we were in Amalf i Coast - t here was a stunning walkway full of purple, vining blooms crawling up t he stone walls of t he cobbled pat hs. Ever ywhere we went t here were touc hes of old world c harm suc h as, aged marble, crumbling stone, crawling vines, rust and patina. This perfectly planned intimate backyard soiree fell on none other than Cinco de Mayo and was packed full of pretty and vibrant details. Vintage sombreros, hand-designed napkins, a Mexican bridal cake, papel picado and a flamenco guitarist carried the festive theme throughout. The invitations were sent in both English and Portuguese, and the favors included Bem Casados (which translates to “Well Married”), Vermont syrup and Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon honoring their favorite vacation spot. On top of the must-have list was a stunning dessert table featuring four cakes and over 600 Brazilian desserts that became a focal point at the reception.

The couple wanted the party to begin the moment their guests stepped foot on property. Guests were treated to champagne underneath 100 year old oak trees before the ceremony. The bride made her memorable walk with her dad down the floral lined aisle leading to a stunning archway draped in lush white florals. The bride wanted to drape the ceiling to add a softer touch with the oak trees surrounding all the guests. It was a classic ballroom outdoors!

hristina and Phillip are both pharmacists, and they met while she was doing a rotation at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. She shadowed Phillip around the ER as part of the rotation. They got through the rotation together with some awkward moments, but they kept it professional. She remembers thinking on her last day that she would probably never see him again. A few weeks after the rotation had ended, Phillip found and messaged her on Facebook, started talking, and never stopped! Their wedding day was a casual celebration with one hundred of their closest family and friends. It was a sweet, springtime garden wedding just as they had envisioned. Phillip and Christina both loved spending time with their family. Christina’s mother passed away several years ago, and she made sure they had a framed picture of her at the wedding so she could be there in spirit. ric proposed while he and Gabriela were on vacation in Turks & Caicos. They had a photographer take pictures of them on the beach and he popped the question! Afterwards they celebrated with a romantic private dinner on the beach. Gabriela’s wedding vision was a romantic summer wedding with lots of candles and florals. They had a nice ceremony outside on the patio and then moved everyone inside for a cocktail hour and reception. Their guests enjoyed an open bar and amazing food! Gabriela wanted a traditional seated dinner, and to start things off they surprised their guests with a performance from the talented violinist Damien Escobar. Everyone loved his performance and were on their feet! After dinner, they continued with the dance portion, cake cutting, and farewell with glow sticks and a bubble machine. It was definitely a night to remember! mily met Nick through mutual friends and soon after they grabbed lunch. While she thought they were meeting for a casual lunch at Hobbit Cafe, he thought it was a lunch date. Regardless, Nick moved to Denver for work not long after and the pair kept in touch as friends. The following year, they reconnected and became official. After dating for five years, Nick asked Emily to dinner at Hobbit Cafe where the couple sat at the same table they sat at on their first “date.” Emily didn’t think anything was unusual and suspected nothing. When the waitress served their dessert, Emily saw a ring perched on the plate. To her surprise, Nick got down on one knee and popped the question! She excitedly said yes as the small eatery erupted in applause! uliette and Dino met through mutual friends in 2012. She was an undergrad at the University of Houston and he was in medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The pair kept bumping into each other and eventually became study partners before dating. Whether they were traveling or staying home to cook, Juliette and Dino always had a great time with one another. The couple cherish their two Pomeranians so Dino incorporated them into his proposal. When Juliette saw that Dino had dressed up the pups in adorable ties, she immediately began taking photos. Once she realized what the dogs were dressed up for, she put her phone down! Dino asked for Juliette’s hand in marriage and presented her with a ring that was attached to one of their dog’s collars. Excitedly, she said yes! When he popped his head over the cubicles to introduce himself, Meghan was surprised - but not disappointed - to see a long, tall Texan. A few weeks later, she was checking the company’s HR policies on office romance! The couple was enjoying a post-Thanksgiving trip to New Orleans when Jacque popped the question. At the close of the trip, he made up a story about needing to go back to their hotel to change his shoes. As he dug through his suitcase looking for “shoes,” he pulled out a ring. Meghan says everything went hazy as she excitedly said, “Yes!” The pair spent the rest of the night celebrating on Frenchmen Street! uchi and Meet met through mutual friends from the University of Texas. She was only in town for the summer before moving to New York City, so they hung out constantly for the first few weeks. They made the long distance relationship work, and four years later, they got married! The wedding day began at a very early 5 a.m. for Ruchi to get ready in her traditional Indian bridal attire. She and Meet did their first look on the rooftop of the Marriott Marquis. They locked eyes and captured that amazing emotional moment. They felt like they were on top of the world. For the ceremony, Meet rode up in a vintage Rolls Royce with his family and friends dancing along his side. The traditional Hindu ceremony lasted about an hour. They had a stunning reception with over 500 guests where they danced until the early hours of the morning. ara and Matt first met for drinks while living in Southern California. They talked for hours about how they grew up, their families, jobs, baseball, ballet, and everything in between. They shut the place down! The couple was preparing for an upcoming trip to Italy when Matt popped the question. Matt said he went out to the store to grab a few groceries, but what he was really doing was calling Dara’s parents for permission and buying champagne! When he got home, he slyly set up a camera, told her he’d forgotten something, and asked her to marry him on bended knee. She jumped into his arms, kissed him, and said yes! Their best friend and Matt’s college roommate officiated the intimate ceremony in front of 90 of their closest family and friends. elaney met Ryan during their first week of freshman year of college. They lived in the same apartment building and spent a lot of time together as friends. A year later, Delaney eventually came to her senses and let Ryan out of the “friend zone.” The couple was vacationing in Laguna Beach when Ryan proposed on the beach! After the proposal, Delaney spotted both of their families in the distance – they had flown in to surprise her! After six years together, Delaney and Ryan celebrated with a blissful wedding! They were married at St. Anne Catholic Community, which is a special place for them and a reception was held at The Astorian. eena and Dave rode the same bus as first year medical students. Dave thought they were friends as soon as they met. Zeena interpreted Dave’s reticence, lack of smiling, and monotone voice as evidence that they were enemies. At least they can agree that they were mutual friends by the end of second year. While Dave was working on the PhD part of his MD/ PhD, Zeena completed medical school and started residency. After fiveand-a-half years of just being friends, their friendship became more than a friendship in December 2012. Some of the best moments from their wedding day were the ones where it was just them: reading letters to each other, the first look, candid photos prior to the ceremony, the first dance, even cutting the cake with everyone else in the periphery. At the same time, it was incredible to have an entire place filled with the people they love. ram and Toan met at a luncheon in 2012, but didn’t begin dating until two years later. The day before Tram’s birthday the couple was vacationing in Italy. Tram thought the pair was set to go on a private tour in a small town on the Almafi Coast, but Toan had bigger plans. The tour guides were actually photographers and captured the most picturesque proposal when they pulled over to enjoy an incredible view of the city and coast. The wedding was full of tradition and began with the Vietnamese tea ceremony. Tram wore a traditional but modern red Vietnamese dress. The groom and wedding party lined up with offerings of tea, fruit, gifts, jewelry and cakes. Then, the groom’s parents knocked on the door officially asking the bride’s parents for permission for their son to marry their daughter. The most memorable moments happened during the formal tea ceremony where they said prayers for their ancestors’ blessings and the parents welcomed the bride and groom to their families. indy and Jonathan met through an online dating site – just as she was about to deactivate her account. Ironically, Jonathan was the first guy she saw and Cindy was the first girl he saw. They both agree that some things are meant to be! On their two-year anniversary, the couple traveled to Houston for a Yayoi Kusama exhibit, an artist best known for dazzling mirror room exhibits. The exhibit is so popular, ticket holders are only allowed 60 seconds inside. Once in the exhibit, Cindy immediately began taking photos. When she noticed Jonathan wasn’t standing beside her, she looked to see that he was on his knee with a ring. He asked her to marry him and she said yes! hitney and Conor met Labor Day weekend 2014 over drinks. They each had friends in town and hit it off immediately. One day, Whitney arrived at his townhouse and noticed candles were everywhere. As she rounded the corner for the last set of stairs, he was on one knee. Whitney even interrupted Conor to say “yes!” before he finished proposing. The couple was thrilled to marry in the Houston area. They thought Chandelier Grove was an amazing venue, and they were hooked once they toured the space. The ceremony was held outside in the pecan grove with cocktail hour on the lawn and dinner in the barn with tons of candles and flowers. Whitney and Conor opted out of a lot of “traditional” wedding rituals to have as much time as possible with their guests. very December, Amanda and Anthony take a trip to Fredericksburg for her birthday. In the past they have gone with friends, but one year he suggested that they go alone. However, they did take their new pups, Major and Bailey. She found a charming cottage in Wimberley, TX. On their second day, they decided to take the dogs for a quick walk before dinner. What she thought would be a quick walk turned into the longest walk ever! He was so determined to find the scenic outlook. She went in one direction with Bailey, and as she turned around Anthony began to bend down. She asked, “What are you doing??” as he pulled the ring bag out of his pocket. Major could not have sat more perfectly next to him as it all unfolded. At first she was at a loss for words, then cried, “yes!” and exploded into his arms. or Annemarie it was love at first sight. The second she saw Brian, she knew she was in trouble. She was a freshman in college and he was a senior, so unfortunately timing wasn’t on their side as he graduated and they went their separate ways. Fast-forward to after Annemarie’s graduation when Brian reached out. The rest is history! Brian isn’t great at keeping secrets, so rather than purchase a ring and wait for the perfect moment, he purchased the ring and proposed hours later! When Annemarie got home after work, she arrived to a flushed Brian who presented her with a beautiful bouquet of red roses. After that, he handed her several wedding magazines and quickly dropped to one knee while presenting her with a gorgeous ring. Excitedly, Annemarie said yes!

atie and Will came back from dinner one night and were about to head over to a friend’s house in the neighborhood. Will suggested they walk their cockapoo, Bo, first. She didn’t understand why he would want to go on a longer walk when they had plans to go to a friend’s house. Will was persistent about this walk along Buffalo Bayou, so they went! About halfway through, they crossed over a bridge overlooking the downtown skyline, and he got down on one knee! Katie was ecstatic and loved that he chose a relaxing atmosphere and that it was one of their favorite spots. They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day in November! It was warm and sunny, perfect for an outside romantic garden themed wedding! They had their first look in the garden prior to the ceremony, which really calmed their nerves. One day, both of their assigned partners skipped practice so they rehearsed together. After permanently changing their partner assignments, the pair’s relationship blossomed and Brett soon asked Jacquelyn out for a date! On their first date, Brett took Jacquelyn to dinner and Lake Bryan. Fastforward two years later, he recreated their first date to propose. Under the guise of watching a friend’s band, they went to a restaurant that turned out to be closed. Instead, he took her hand and led her to the dock where he had taught her to two-step on their first date. There, he got down on one knee! helby and Ross met at Texas A&M University. After Ross got drafted in 2012, he left to begin his baseball career as she completed her junior year of college. They rekindled their friendship after he returned from his first season of professional baseball. The following year, they became official. In March 2016, Shelby traveled to Arizona to visit Ross during Spring Training. On one evening, he planned a fancy dinner at Sassi Italian Restaurant in Scottsdale. He romantically popped the question on the beautiful garden lawn of the restaurant as the sun set across the scenic desert view. riane and Richard bonded on their first date over their love for travel, food and dogs. They were enjoying themselves so much the restaurant seemed empty. Later on, as Ariane was working as a labor and delivery nurse, Richard surprised her with an elaborate proposal. Her manager pulled her aside, and she was led to a walkway of red petals and a candlelit path. Richard was there waiting with her best friends and closest co-workers. He kneeled on the ground and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes! The couple married at a historic fire station, with Richard even sliding down the fireman’s pole for his entrance! They exchanged vows and performed their secret handshake, which remains a favorite memory. At the end of the night, the couple said farewell through a rainfall of confetti, climbed into a gorgeous white Rolls Royce and departed as Mr. and Mrs. Hooks. illary and Hal met through a mutual friend in high school. Growing up as friends strengthened their bond, and set the foundation for a solid relationship and marriage. Life took them separate ways in college, but once reunited, the pair was inseparable. There was no doubt they had found “the one” in the other. To perfect the proposal, Hal wrote out exactly what he wanted to say to Hillary and practiced reciting the words in the weeks leading up to popping the question. When he pulled out the ring – he forgot everything! Choked up and unable to speak, he finally managed to say a rough version of what he had planned. By mistake, Julie texted the wrong Joshua, which led to a conversation that turned into much more! Soon after the accidental text, they started spending more time together and eventually began dating. In the summer of 2015, Joshua had just moved back to Houston after living in New York City for law school and working for a Wall Street law firm. When he got back to Texas, he kept insisting on taking Julie camping but they couldn’t find the time. She put off the camping trip week after week – not knowing Joshua already had the ring! The pair ended up living in the same dorm, became fast friends and have been inseparable since. To propose, Matt worked out a grand plan with the help of a professor. They organized a fake awards ceremony that happened to take place during a stressful week for Skylar. Nearing a possible breakdown, Skylar traveled to the site of the ceremony with her parents – while her mother drove far too slow. Thinking they were late, she burst out of the car to be waved into a side entrance to the ceremony only to run into Matt. Surprised, she realized what was happening and Matt confirmed it. atalie and George were on a vacation at their favorite getaway spot in Rockport, Texas, when they got engaged. The last day there they went to catch the sunrise on the beach. It was such a perfect morning. She turned her head for a second, and when she turned back around he was down on one knee. She was completely surprised. On the wedding day, seeing George for the first look really helped calm Natalie’s nerves. From there, the wedding party rode in a trolley to the ceremony. It was a blast getting to ride with all their best friends. Walking out for the ceremony with her dad and seeing everyone there to celebrate with them made Natalie so happy. During the reception they had a Michael Jackson impersonator with back up dancers perform because they’re huge MJ fans! He really got the party going, and their guests still talk about him. They officially met during a fraternity party where he asked for her phone number. From there, they spent the next few weeks getting to know one another and falling in love. To celebrate Mercedes’ mother’s birthday, her father planned a surprise party for her – which was strange, because usually Mercedes and her sister are the family party planners. Despite this, Mercedes and Benjamin went to the restaurant only to discover her family was running late for the party. arley and Ryan met in August 2014 at a friend’s house party in Houston. One of Carley’s best friends and her boyfriend both knew Ryan at A&M and introduced them. They ended up talking to each other the whole night. They couldn’t believe how much they had in common, especially the fact that they were both twins! Ryan proposed on the beach in front of both their families, Carley’s best friend, and their dog, Sophie, who had the ring box tied to her collar. Carley’s favorite wedding memory was finally getting to see Ryan. They did a first look outside the Hotel Galvez, and their photographer captured it all. Ryan had not seen her dress yet, so when she walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder to turn around, he looked at her and instantly started crying. hris took Connie to Brazos Bend State Park on their third date. For their proposal, they went back to the park for “family photos,” but he gave her parents a map of where to find him, and he proposed in front of her family! Seeing the beautiful decor and smelling the fresh flowers was the moment Connie realized the wedding was going to be perfect. The weather was great, and the guests really enjoyed the views and the venue. They had an open bar, and Connie’s mother made sure that guests and vendors would have plenty to eat. After dinner was served, red envelopes were passed around, and lion dancers surprised the guests. Everyone was so excited to watch the dancers and “feed the lions” red envelopes for good luck and prosperity. The lion dancing went on much longer than expected because the guests were having such a blast taking pictures. hen Laura and Nathan first met at church, they were strictly friends. After a year of friendship, the pair got to know one another better after planning an event. aitlyn and Christian are two native Houstonians who met in St. Louis. They were both attending law school at Washington University. Christian was a year ahead and offered to serve as a mentor to her when she started school a year later. After two-and-a-half years of just being friends, Kaitlyn made the first move. On a night out, Kaitlyn admitted she had a crush on Christian, and their first date ensued soon after! As Kaitlyn walked down the aisle with her dad, she couldn’t stop smiling, and Christian began tearing up. They read their own vows and incorporated their parents in a prayer. Guests were treated to cocktail hour and old school R&B at Hughes Manor. The decor was amazing, and the weather was incredible. until college graduation. After turning him down in high school, Summer wrote him a letter in college asking him to give her a chance. At her college graduation, he asked her to be his girlfriend. Mitchell proposed in the middle of a sunflower field with Summer’s family waiting to surprise her. The Meeker family owns the venue where the couple married, so they began with a big breakfast on the lawn to the music of Patsy Cline surrounded by friends and family. They say it was the calm before the chaos. Summer will never forget the look on Mitchell’s face as she walked down the aisle to the man of her dreams. Mitchell helped build the chapel they got married in, which made everything even more special. Summer told him she wanted to get married in a structure like that, and he made it happen. They became official on April Fool’s Day, which has been a standing joke with their friends and family! Josh used one of Leah’s friends to distract her with a spa day, while he headed out to the proposal site to set up. Later, he called and said that he and his brother were out at their friend’s ranch near Houston, asking for her to meet them there. When Leah arrived, Josh was waiting on the porch smiling. He told her all he valued in their relationship and how he knew she was the one. He got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. It was on the way back she realized she forgot to actually say, “yes,” but it clearly worked out!

ccording to Hanna, she and Jonathan met through a dating app. Jonathan thinks she “swiped right” due to his cute pug, Paulie. Shortly after they “matched,” Jonathan picked up Hanna for brunch at Beavers. They had such a great time at brunch that Jonathan extended the date by taking her to Cru Wine Bar for some bubbly (Hanna’s favorite drink). According to Jonathan, they met at a rodeo event a couple of months before that. Eighteen months later, Jonathan had a terrible cold on Christmas. They were unwrapping their presents in their stockings, and Hanna came to her last present. Jonathan did a good job disguising it, because her first thought was, “this looks like the size of a ring box, but it is way too heavy, and he is way too sick!” However, it was a beautiful ring. She of course said yes, and the rest is history! bby and Tyler met in high school. They began dating in the summer when he asked her to be his girlfriend on the beach. In September 2016, they took a family trip to Disney World. On their second day in the parks, they were on their way to dinner in Magic Kingdom. As they walked over to the restaurant, her family wanted a group picture. After, Tyler asked for them to take one with just the two of them. That’s when Abby realized he was going down on one knee! It was the perfect proposal in front of the castle. Their wedding day was stress free and blissful thanks to their awesome team of vendors. They both loved their “first touch” moment. It was just their photographer and them in the room, and it was one of the most special and intimate parts of the day. They were so happy in that moment. bigail first met Trey on Christmas Eve. He was friends with her brother-in-law and came to play games with her family. Abigail was intimidated by how handsome he was and didn’t speak to Trey all night! Over the years, they ran into each other every so often, but their paths truly crossed when she moved back to Houston after graduate school. Soon, Trey asked Abigail to dinner where they hit things off. He ended up spending the next year working in Norway where the couple ended up talking every day. They knew they had something special! n May 2014, Melba was graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, and Josh was there with family to watch his brother graduate as well. Melba and Josh met at the law school’s graduation party. They hit it off instantly. Josh told her later that it was love at first sight. However, it was not until she moved to Houston in August of 2015 that their relationship began. They immediately reconnected, and even though Josh lived three hours away in San Antonio, what began as a genuine friendship blossomed into a romance. The couple wanted a formal yet intimate fall wedding with a navy, ballet pink and gold color palette. Josh and Melba both wrote their own vows. They also planned a formal dinner because they wanted a personal and meaningful wedding experience with their guests.
