Forest Park joins opioid class-action suit Municipalities target manufacturers and distributors

Forest Park is taking a stance on prescription opioids by joining a growing number of municipalities in Illinois in

lawsuits against manufacturers and distributors of prescription opioids. The village council voted 4-0 Sept. 24 to retain the services of Edelson PC and join a class-action lawsuit seeking to recoup damages from the defendant companies and doctors

for their roles in creating a nationwide opioid epidemic and the costs associated with combating it. Commissioner Dan Novak was absent. See OPIOID on page 10

This summer, Ernesto Gasse traveled more than 4,000 miles, across the Atlantic Ocean, to attend school in Cordoba, Argentina, a capital city located in the center of the country at the foot of the Sierra Chicas Mountains.
