How We Met Jason's Perspective: One Thursday night, early in our Freshman year at Xavier University, my friend Seth and I were coming back from a political symposium. We began discussing the era of the Black Panther party and how life must have been back then. Shortly into our conversation, we crossed paths with Tichaun and her friend Jennifer. While this was not the first time we were introduced, it was the first serious discussion I ever had with Tichaun. We spent the evening debating on opposite sides about nature versus nurture. When we parted, I decided that not only was she beautiful, but she was also intelligent. I knew then, that I'd have to keep my eye on her.

The Proposal Tichaun's Perspective: On August 26, 2011, I had plans to go get a massage with Niija and I was truly looking forward to a girls night out. Jason was supposed to be going out with friends after work as well, so I figured we'd both have an awesome night apart. After a fabulous massage, Niija and I went for drinks and appetizers and a few hours later, I pulled into the garage at home. Walking out of the garage, I found an illuminated walkway with rose petals sprikled throughout. I opened the door to find 70+ lit candles and Jason rounded the corner before I could take in anything else. "Will you marry me," he said. I was so surprised I think it took him asking again before I could say yes! The beauty of the moment became even more monumental when I realized that Jason had even taken the time to recreate one of our most romantic moments from our college courtship. It was everything I never knew I wanted in a proposal.
