Christmas Means EAT!
I look around the beautifully decorated sanctuary full of poinseias, christmas trees and pine boughs holding white miniature twinkling lights. Every year, the ornaments are hung with care. The empty manger sits at the side waiting to fill with props for the Christmas program.
It’s tradition. No maer what our choice of denomination or religious faith is, most agree Jesus’ birthday began the annual celebration. We follow the in the habits of our parents and the way we were raised. As time passes and we grow, some traditions fall by the wayside and others are introduced. There are the trees, the lights, the parades with Santa, and the shopping. There are special movies, carols, programs and concerts.
Then there is the food. You simply can’t have Christmas without that one special recipe. If we don’t cook at any other time, we have to try our hand at kitchen duties sometime during the holidays. Many happy memories come from those special times with loved ones while preparing special food items. And thanks to our readers and advertising sponsors who have shared some of those experiences, this issue is filled once again with many winning recipes. I invite you to try at least one of them as who knows? You just might be creating another memorial tradition to add to your list. Until next month, Have a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!
