Winterland at Gallagher Way, IL

CHICAGO – Celebrate the holidays by taking part in the many seasonal events and activities occuring Dec. 6-22 at Gallagher Way. The fun begins with a Winterland tree light ceremony at 6 p.m., then continues with Santa’s Workshop, wreath making classes, holiday Movie Nights, bumper cars, special programming at Hotel Zachary and surrounding Gallagher Way eateries.

New to this year’s transformation includes a winter market and a winter carnival where guests can enjoy festive carnival rides during the last two weekends of Winterland.

Programming dates, times and additional details are:

• Thur. and Fri.: 4 - 9 p.m.

• Sat.: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

• Sun.: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

SANTA’S WORKSHOP

Guests can take photos with Santa on Thurs. - Sun. in his workshop located in a chalet at Gallagher Way! Santa’s workshop is open to all family members, including pets. Santa’s Workshop schedule is Thur. and Fri.: 4 - 9 p.m., Sat. and Sun.: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Pets are only allowed Sun.

WINTER MARKET

New this year to Winterland at Gallagher Way is the Winter Market. During the first weekend of Winterland, stop by the

Winter Market to shop from a wide variety of vendors offering everything from home decor to clothing, food, jewelry, gifts, and more! The Winter Market is the perfect place for date night, meeting up with friends, or post-work drinks. This free event is open to the public.

WREATH-MAKING WORKSHOPS

In partnership with Indigo & Violet Studio, Gallagher Way brings a festive wreath-making workshop to Winterland! Guests

will learn how to make a fragrant, one-of-a-kind holiday decoration for all to enjoy. Tickets are $55 per person, which includes both the wreath and décor material. Workshops will take place Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Spots fill up quickly – for more details and to reserve a spot, visit http://www.gallagherway.com/ events.

MOVIE NIGHTS

On select Thursdays, Gallagher Way will host holiday-themed Movie Nights at Winterland. Movies will be played on the Gallagher Way video board. Gates will open at 6 p.m., with movies beginning at 7 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

ALMA AT HOTEL ZACHARY

Globes on the Terrace Cozy up on the terrace this winter inside Alma at Hotel Zachary’s Globes, available for private bookings November 16 through January 26, 2025 (with closures on December 24 and 25).

The heated Globes provide an intimate setting for holiday fun, perfect for friends, families, or couples looking to embrace the spirit of the season. Each reservation includes a drink and dessert package, featuring signature holiday cocktails or kid-friendly options like hot chocolate, eggnog, or sparkling cider. Within each globe, groups can enjoy holiday music on the record player provided, cards and board games, and a Polaroid camera to capture picture-perfect moments with friends and family. Additionally, a live DJ will perform Thursday through Saturday evenings, spinning holiday music throughout November and December. The Globes are available to book via Alma’s Open Table page for two to six guests from Sunday through Thursday for $50 per person and Friday through Saturday for $75 per person.
