Stop To Smell The Flowers

ROCKBRIDGE - If you’re looking for a delightful escape this summer, mark your calendar for July 12-14 and head to the Bishop Educational Gardens for Lilyfest 2024. It’s a perfect weekend getaway that promises to enchant visitors with its vibrant mix of art, music, and lush gardens.

As you stroll through the gardens, you’ll be greeted by the sight of thousands of lilies in full bloom, creating a colorful tapestry. Alongside these floral wonders, more than 70 talented artists and craftspeople will be displaying their unique creations.

Enjoy the soulful sounds of Appalachian-style music, adding a melodic backdrop to your exploration. See updates to the schedule of performers on the music section of the Lilyfest website.

Garden enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy also. The event features numerous annuals, perennials, and water plants for sale. OSU Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer their expertise, answering questions about plant growing and maintenance. Additionally, garden-related workshops, organized by the Hocking Soil and Water Conservation District, provide a chance to learn and engage with like-minded individuals.

Ample parking is available in two fields, but to help reduce congestion, carpooling is encouraged. While service animals are welcome, please leave pets at home to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.

Founder of Lilyfest, Bobbi Bishop came together with painter Cathy Hill through volunteer work with the annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser more than 10 years ago. They have been collaborating on their “BobCat” painted pottery line every year since, exclusively for Lilyfest.
