MERRIN’S MEDAL Trent Merrin capped off a sensational first season with the Panthers by winning the club’s prestigious Merv Cartwright Medal last Wednesday night. The 26-year-old, who also earned a call-up into the Kangaroos squad last week, won the Panthers’ player of the year award after a stunning year, in which he played in all but one match. Blaxland’s Peter Wallace won Members’ Player of the Year.
