BOOM NEAR AIRPORT Western Sydney Airport has appointed a master plan architect to realise the vision for the Airport’s landside business park. Western Sydney Airport Chief Executive Graham Millett said Australian firm Architectus has been appointed to plan a business park on a dedicated 191-hectare parcel of prime airport real estate. “There will be opportunities for businesses to be at the terminal’s doorstep at what will become Australia’s largest international gateway,” Mr Millett said. “When the Airport opens in 2026, it will be built for 10 million passengers a year, but we’ve got a blueprint for staged growth to become one of the world’s biggest airports in the decades to follow and our business park will be a key feature.” The business park will offer the opportunity to integrate office, retail, industrial, hotels and conference facilities within 1.5 kilometres of the airport terminal. Located on the 1,780-hectare Airport site, with a dedicated stop on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport north-south rail line servicing the business park,

“Consultants, tech companies, defence and aerospace, airlines and pharmaceutical are just some of the industries that would enjoy considerable advantage being located at the Airport’s front door,” he said. Master planning work on the Airport business park and its features is expected to be complete in mid-2019.

VINAKA VEKAVELU, SHERATON FIJI Sylvia and I have just returned from the perfect holiday for us. We returned to a popular destination for us, so we knew what to expect. We went for a break and so avoided the touristy stuff just relying on our accommodation the attached golf course and great restaurants to satisfy all our desires. The most important of these was the bed. At our age having a great big bed to look forward to every evening and during the day after eating is very important. Also having the sea at our door so that early morning and late afternoon dips in the sea was also most important. I admit to spending several hours just bobbing up and down in a lovely warm sea which if you went out far enough had the occasional chilly patch to refresh my warmed body. We also made full use of the various pools available to us, (mostly adults only). We did not want to annoy any kids. The golf course while having water across just about every hole gave us enough challenge to focus on the role of the green to achieve a reasonable score (for us anyway) and I nearly sunk one ball in one of the streams but while nearly falling in I managed to retrieve it much to the enjoyment of my lady. It was very hot, but we persevered and with the aid of a wonderful golf buggy really enjoyed our sojourn. So good to see land where rain falls regularly. We did not over eat, in fact, I lost weight while there, but we ate as much as we wanted, perhaps more than we needed. We were sad the day before we came home because we hate packing, but we felt good about coming home. There really is no place like home is there, especially when home is Australia. Coming in over Sydney and the Bridge must be one of the most welcoming sites it is possible to see. Thank you, Sydney, for finishing of our Holiday in such a spectacular way. Yes, back to work now and looking forward to catching up with my mates and clients through the office. I am going to do whatever it takes to make the rest of this year and all of 2019 a period to remember for everyone.
