Time can certainly get away particularly with the modern lifestyle and access to everyone 24 hours a day. This is often the case too when buying a property and obtaining approval for your finance. We have written before about ensuring a pre-approval is in place before making offers to buy a property, but there are also some steps to take that can help make the approval process quicker. It is often thought that with modern technology, applications should be completed more quickly, however all of the banks and lenders across the country have very complex systems and procedures in place. There are often teams within teams at banks and so many departments it can be almost impossible to keep track of an application, and the time can slip by. Applications may be delayed not because the borrower is unable to afford the loan, or that there is a problem with the property, but because forms have not been
completed correctly, or there is a piece of information that has not been provided. The key is to ensure that when submitting an application whether through a broker or directly with a bank, that all the information requirements are provided at the outset and all the forms are completed correctly. That way the application will

Why did you become involved in the real estate industry? As a family run business with both my mum and dad running it, it only seemed natural and of course with my father in my ear, there was nowhere else I should be. I commenced working here on weekends when I was only 16 whilst working for a law firm, then went through TAFE to receive my licence and commenced working here full time. I started at reception, then went into sales for years until I started my family and then went into property management. Tell us about the first house that you sold? The first house that I sold was in Colyton. I was so excited, it was
like an adrenalin rush. I thought I had made it after that one sale (boy did I have a lot to learn). Now in property management when we lease a property we still get excited in this office. Another one leased to another great tenant.
