My thinking for you in these matters is, if you feel that one day you might move somewhere else, you should buy now if you can and I am pretty sure we could show you how so that you have stopped the price in that location going up and then when the time comes to make the move, rent your own place out for a year while you try the new location out. If it does not work for you it would then be a simple matter of moving back to your original home and re-letting the other place. I have sufficient experiences in these matters from others and family, to be confident in the guidance I am providing here. Of course the best thing is that as well as stopping the price of the new property going up you have also had tenants help you to pay it off and within 4-5 years the income should at least cover the holding costs of the future home. I like to hold property not sell it so if it was possible I would also encourage you to never sell your current home but to see how you can improve the income from it maybe sooner rather than later.
