ATTRACTS RENTERS The west has once again been crowned the best and this time it’s for its affordable rent. New research has revealed that renters on the lookout for affordable housing will be rewarded by packing their bags and moving out to Penrith. With one of the largest rent rolls in the Penrith region, Greg Taylor from Stanton and Taylor First National, said it isn’t a surprise that Penrith topped the list. “Penrith has always been close to one of the most affordable suburbs in the Sydney region,” he said. “With your general bread and butter type housing and units, the further you move out from the city, it doesn’t matter whether it’s the south west, the north west or the west, they’re all fairly comparable to the inner suburbs in the city.” Coming in equal first with the Blue Mountains and Campbelltown for the greater Sydney metropolitan area, the Affordable Income Housing Gap Report by Compass Housing showed that average earners in Penrith would need to spend 23 per cent of their
