ost kids when they grow up want their parents to build them a slot car track or something of the like but Luddenham’s Simo Vukmirica dreamed bigger... way bigger. The 21-year-old entrepreneur along with his parents, two sisters and best friend decided they’d
put their near 100ha Luddenham property to good use by building Penrith’s first outdoor raceway featuring two multi-purpose circuits. Luddenham Raceway, which is scheduled to be fully operational by July 2015, will be home to a 600 metre go-karting track and 1,250 metre race track for driver and rider training plus other motorsport activities. The facility will also feature state-of-the-art timing systems, track safety and lighting systems
that have been certified by the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS). Speaking with the Weekender, Mr Vukmirica said he and his family had been dreaming up the idea of building their own race track for a number of years. “We thought there was a lack of tracks in the area and it’s every kid’s dream to always want something like this,” he said.
