He brutally murdered a little girl, now Neville Towner wants his freedom

eville Raymond Towner brutally murdered fouryear-old Lauren Hickson at Emu Plains nearly 30 years ago. Now, he wants to be released. And there’s genuine fears from Lauren’s family that the State Parole Authority will grant him his wish next month. Towner has served 28 years in prison for the murder that rocked the Penrith region in 1989. He was originally sentenced to life imprisonment but later appealed and was granted eligibility for parole. He’s been seeking release since 2009. Lauren’s family say they fear for their safety if he’s released. Full coverage: See pages 4 and 7.
