erious injuries, major damage and huge traffic delays was the result of two serious crashes on local roads on Wednesday. The carnage began in the morning peak, when a car and a truck collided on Mamre Road at St Clair at about 7.30am, and slid together down an embankment. Emergency services were called to the scene,
including the Ambulance NSW helicopter, which landed in a nearby park. The female driver of the car reportedly lost consciousness and was trapped in her vehicle with suspected spinal injuries, while the male truck driver suffered a leg injury. The female was transported to Liverpool Hospital by air in a critical condition, while the male was transported to hospital via road ambulance. Just hours later, not long after 10am, emergency services were called to another serious accident
at Cranebrook, where a car and motorcycle had collided, rendering the motorcyclist unconscious. The 35-year-old motorcyclist regained consciousness before CareFlight’s medical team arrived but he was suffering from multiple injuries. “CareFlight’s medical team initiated pre-hospital treatment for head and leg injuries before he was placed in a road ambulance to allow treatment to continue on the journey to Westmead Hospital,” said CareFlight spokesperson, Mark Lever. Investigations into the crashes are continuing.
