THE HEARTBEAT OF PENRITH
HOME INVASION A family has been left shaken but unhurt after a dramatic home invasion in St Clair. The family of four were asleep in their Kala Circuit home on Monday when the 27-year-old woman of the home awoke at about 1.15am to the sound of breaking glass. Two men had allegedly broken a glass door on the home, forcing their way inside, before things turned even more horrifying.

major program designed to revitalise and connect Penrith’s city centre has been launched by NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell. Penrith Progression, an initiative of Penrith Council and the Penrith Business Alliance, is a collaborative process which gives the community and stakeholders a key role in revitalising and connecting the city centre and shaping the future of the Penrith region. Penrith Mayor, Ross Fowler said Penrith Progression would open the door to new projects,
capital investment and partnerships to invigorate Penrith’s city centre. “Penrith Progression is about all of us having a say in the look, feel and growth of Penrith and creating a better future for our City. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to shape the Penrith of tomorrow,” Cr Fowler said. “Around 40 per cent of the city centre is owned by Council or State Government. Th is puts Council in a position to leverage considered growth which will see the City become a leader, driving investment and growth for Greater Western Sydney.” Penrith Progression aims to identify key projects, attract investors and create thousands of local jobs to
support the current and potential needs of the growing community. Hundreds of key business people in the Penrith region joined with federal, state and local politicians at the launch last Friday at Penrith Stadium’s Chairman’s Lounge, a defi nitive moment in the next steps in Penrith’s future. “Penrith Progression will build on the vast amount of planning work already done by Council to explore and identify economic, social and environmental drivers which will underpin the urban renewal of Penrith,” Cr Fowler said.
