Early risers They’re the new faces of breakfast television – at least they hope to be. Channel 10 will have another attempt at the breakfast TV market later this year when it launches ‘Wake Up’, and this week its hosts Natasha Exelby, James Mathison and Natarsha Belling hit the ground in Penrith as part of the show’s publicity blitz. The trio spoke to locals at the Penrith Markets, even getting into the spirit by buying a couple of punnets of locally produced strawberries.
Drug haul in car boot Cannabis, amphetamines and $11k in cash discovered by police

lmost seven kilograms of cannabis and $11,000 in cash was discovered in a car pulled over by police at Orchard Hills on Tuesday night. Police made the stunning discovery at around 6.40pm on Tuesday night after the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad Highway Patrol stopped a four-wheel-drive on Mamre Road. “A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 6.9kg of cannabis in the boot of the vehicle,” Police said in a statement.
“Police also located more than $11,000 cash and about 30g of amphetamine in the car.” The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 40-year-old Rebels nominee, was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged by Strike Force Raptor offic ers with two counts of ‘supply prohibited drug greater than an indictable quantity’, and one count of dealing with the proceeds of crime. He was given conditional bail, and will appear at Penrith Local Court in late October to answer the charges.

During the interaction the female admitted to administering a “cocktail of heroin and ice, or methamphetamine”. Police are continuing their enquiries and charges are expected.
