Frank Coasts to the Top in National Distance Skateboarding Ranks
Brothers Max (left) and Will (right) Frank following a 2015 skateboarding race.
By Nancye Tuttle Contributing Writer KENNEBUNKPORT Will Frank likes nothing more than hopping on his skateboard and cruising the back roads of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Arundel and Biddeford. It clears his head, revives his spirit and builds his body. “It’s fun being on wheels, rolling along and gaining mo-
mentum, says Frank, 25, a Cape Porpoise resident. Frank has felt that way since he started skateboarding as a kid growing up in Summit, N.J. and now he has risen through the ranks of competitive skateboarding. Last year, he won the 2015 Season Champion Award for Men’s Overall from the International Distance Skateboard Association (IDSA), an organi-
zation that promotes distance skateboarding for transportation, fitness and competition. “It’s based on points received from races throughout the season, he explains. “This upcoming season there’s a new point system that will make it an even more exciting year of contests. See SKATE page 36...
