WellS – The Wells-Ogunquit CSD school committee recently recognized Wells High School for achieving the highest graduation rate among all high schools in Maine from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, the school’s graduation rate reached 99 percent. “That says a lot for Jim (Principal Daly) and his staff at the high school,” noted Chairman Russell Fox who presented Daly with a Certificate of

famous concentration camp in Czechoslovakia where tens of thousands of children were held before being sent to their deaths on rail transports to Auschwitz. It has been presented in schools and theaters in New England, as well as internationally in Scotland, Germany and at the Auschwitz concentration camp. “Terezin” was written and produced by Anna Smulowitz, founder of the Newburyport Children’s Theater, as a tribute to her relatives who died in the Holocaust. The play portrays the horrors perpetrated by Nazi Germany during World War II, but it also speaks to more universal problems such as bullying, harassment, hatred and prejudice. Selected classes from York Middle School and York High School have been invited to attend performances during the school day on April 4. The general public may attend a performance at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, in the auditorium of the York High School. The play is appropriate for adults and teenagers over 12 years of age. Tickets for the evening performance are not required and admission is free. The productions in York are made possible by the Herman Forbes Charitable Trust and con-

tributions by residents in York and the Seacoast region. The York Diversity Forum is a grassroots organization whose mission is to be a visible, peaceful, active voice and resource to promote understanding, acceptance, and respect for people of all races, cultures, religions, sexual orientations, ages, and abilities. The auditorium of the York High School is located at the campus of the York High School, 1 Robert Stevens Drive in York. For more information, call 207-361-9525.

OGuNQuIT – This year’s Patriots’ Day Celebration, slated April 12 to 14 in Ogunquit, will feature a delicious new slice of American tradition, according to organizers at the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce. A first-ever American Pie Contest will get under way on Saturday, April 13, at the Dunaway Center. “What is an American pie? That will be up to the participant,” said Frances Reed, chamber vice president. “Maybe it’s apple. Or cherry. Or maybe an American pie is one based on how it looks rather than its ingredients.” Local amateur pie bakers are invited to bring one 8- or 9-inch interpretation of Ameri-

Each entry will be judged on theme, appearance and taste, Reed said, and the winner will be presented with a $50 Gift of Ogunquit gift certificate. The winning recipe will be published in the next Chamber of Commerce cookbook, which is currently in planning stages. The annual Patriots’ Day Celebration in Ogunquit, featuring crafts, music, food, re-enactments and a festive look at American history, was named “Best Show of Patriotism” by Down East Magazine, Reed noted. ~ News ~ $9 Million announced for Maine Fish and Wildlife Conservation WaSHINGTON, d.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Angus S. King Jr. (I-Maine) announced recently that the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will receive about $9 million in excise tax revenues to fund fish and wildlife conservation and recreation projects. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is distributing $5,761,219 through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration program and $3,598,719 through DingellJohnson Sport Fish Restoration program. Revenues come from excise taxes generated by the sale of sporting firearms, ammunition, archery equipment, fishing equipment and tackle, and electric outboard motors. Recreational boaters also contribute to the program through fuel taxes on motorboats and small engines. “Maine has a rich and longstanding heritage of outdoor recreation,” said a spokesman for Collins and King. “These funds are a direct investment by Maine’s sportsmen and women not only to continue that heritage, but also to preserve and protect Maine’s natural resources for the benefit and enjoyment of generations to come.” The Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Programs have generated a total of more than $15.3 billion since their inception – in 1937 in the case of the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Program, and 1950 for the Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Program – to conserve fish and wildlife resources. The recipient fish and wildlife agencies have matched these program funds with more than $5.1 billion. This funding is critical to sustaining healthy fish and wildlife populations.

Reception Center training program on Thursday, April 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at York County Community College in Wells. Southern Maine COAD establishes Volunteer Reception Centers in the event of a disaster in the local community. The Centers are created to manage the influx of spontaneous volunteers who come forward to offer help after a major disaster.

Safe SOft

They provide a place where large numbers of volunteers can be efficiently processed and referred to agencies needing their services after a disaster. This process provides an easy way to register volunteers, and manage requests for volunteers from the community. The need for these centers emerged after the ice storms in Maine and the hurricane in New Orleans.

Individuals interested in learning more about helping during times of disaster or who want to become trained in managing a Volunteer Reception Center should attend the training on April 4. Registration can be completed online at www.southernmainecoad.org or by calling Meaghan Arzberger, manager of volunteer engagement at United Way of York County, 207-9853359. The training is free with beverages provided.

I have been on Dr. Donatello’s program for just seven weeks and I have feeling in my feet, the darkness is noticeably different and it looks and feels better than it has in 25 years. I am very satisfied with the program… it works! ~ Brain Kelly, Dover, NH The tingling and burning in my feet are gone after years of suffering. I just played golf again for the first time in 18 months. My blood sugar is way down and I have lost over 50 lbs. My MD took a core sample of my feet prior to Dr. Donatello’s treatment last fall. The dead feeling foot had 5.3 nerves per millimeter. After finishing the treatment, I had another core sample taken and I now have 17.5 nerves per millimeter in my feet! My doctor had never seen results like this. Three Wells Students receive Honorable Mention in essay Contest WellS – Three Wells Junior High School students learned recently that they received honorable mention for their participation at the local level in the AMVETS National Americanism Essay Contest and American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Essay Contest for 2013. Deb Coady, chaplain with the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary No. 3 in Sanford, visited the school to offer her congratulations and present eighth-grade students Kayla Looper, Emily Cottis and Wesley Moody with American flags. “They wrote outstanding essays and should be very proud, wrote Coady to Principal Chris Chessie before her visit. “I am proud of the students, she added. The theme of this year’s essay was “Why is it important to vote? For their responses, each student wrote essays of 350 to 400 words. The annual contest is open to sixththrough 12th-grade students. Looper, Cottis and Moody are all in the English language arts class of Julie Esch. Essays by all three students will now advance to the national level of the contest. Coady and Shirley Girard,

sion. They are Shirley A. Deschenes and Frank Budreau, both of Kennebunk, and John Gouveia of Wells. The post will host its first yard sale on Saturday, May 4, at the post home, Water Street. Funds raised will benefit ongoing local American Legion projects. The sale will be held in conjunction with a downtown May Day celebration in Kennebunk. Yard sale items can be left at post home.

KeNNeBuNK – American Legion Post No. 74 of Kennebunk recently presented a Blue Star Award to Tracy and Russell French Sr. in honor of their son, Russell French Jr., currently stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. The star will be displayed in the front window of the family home, to signify a family member serving on active duty. Post No. 74 also welcomed three new members at the ses-

WellS – The Wells Conservation Commission is participating in a statewide backyard composting bin sale. Through April 20, a home compost bin and how-to guide worth a combined retail value of $100 can be purchased for $46. The bin is black, has a 10-year warranty, and is made of 100 percent recycled plastic. It’s large enough for a family of five. It is estimated that 30 percent of the average household’s waste consists of yard trimmings and kitchen scraps which can be easily composted. Residents of Wells can save money for every ton of waste they compost because it is not shipped out of town for disposal. Order forms are available

at the Town Clerk’s office, the Recycling Center, and on the comission website: www.wellscon-

applicants Sought for Youth Preparedness Council WaSHINGTON, d.C. – U.S. Sen. Angus S. King Jr. (I-Maine) announced recently that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking applicants for its Youth Preparedness Council. The Youth Preparedness Council provides an opportunity for young leaders to serve as a member of a national council, to complete a youth preparedness project of their choosing, to learn about youth disaster preparedness from leadership at FEMA and other national organizations, and to participate in the Youth Preparedness Council Summit where the council meets with emergency management leadership to discuss steps to strengthen the nation’s resiliency against all types of disasters. Participants are expected to represent the youth perspective on emergency preparedness and relay information within their communities. Each council member is expected to develop and complete one preparednessrelated project specific to his/her region and interests. In addition to attending the Summit in the summer of 2013, council members will potentially participate in national, regional, state, tribal and local preparedness meetings and present their work. ~ ask The Computer lady ~ dear Computer lady, I have a problem with Facebook. Like button each time I click it – says unlike. How do you fix that? Bee dear Bee, This is not a problem with Facebook that can be fixed, it is actually just a button that acts like a toggle switch. It is kind of like your garage door opener, there is one button. When the garage door is closed, pushing the button opens the door. When the garage door is open, pushing that same button closes the door. The “Like” button on Facebook works the same way. When you have not “liked” a post, clicking the “Like” button says that you like a post. Once you have “Liked” a post, the same button allows you to change your mind and “unlike” a post. I hope this helps you understand how the “Like/ Unlike” button works in Facebook. Elizabeth dear elizabeth,

I am in the new world of Windows 8. Wow. Any tips to using this new world would be helpful. I have found some help sites, but you do things so nicely I thought I would ask again. Instructions for Windows 8? Bob dear Bob, I would be happy to answer your questions about Windows 8, although I always do better answering a specific question about how to do a task, than just giving tips. I also don’t have a Windows 8 computer yet. I do have the parts to build myself a new Windows 8 computer in my workshop; I am just waiting for a clear workbench to build it on. At the moment, I have several towers in line for me to fix on that workbench. For today though, I will give you a quick tip that I discovered the other day. As you probably know, shutting down your Windows 8 computer can be tricky. You have to hover your cursor in the upper-right corner of your

screen, then when the charms bar slides out, you click “Settings” and then “Power” and finally, “Shut Down.” That’s a lot of hovering and clicking for something that you should do at least once a day. To make things a little bit easier, you can use the keyboard combination, Windows Key + C to slide out the charms menu, or press the Windows Key and the letter I to go directly to the settings menu. I hope this helps. Elizabeth dear Computer lady, I sure hope this is where I can ask a question. I have Windows 7 PRO and recently updated to IE10. I want to go back to IE9 (I have some irritating issues with 10). If I go to Control Panel and remove IE10, will IE9 automatically return? Thanks for your help, Cindy dear Cindy, Yes. When you upgrade to any version of Internet Explorer, and then uninstall it in the Control Panel, it always reverts back to the previous version that you had installed. I hope this helps you with your Internet Explorer 10 problems. Elizabeth

dear Computer lady, I am wanting to rid myself of several old computers. How can I make sure everything is deleted from it before I give them to someone else? I don’t want any of my information left. Is there a way to delete everything from the hard drive? Thanks and many blessings, Heather dear Heather, There is a way to get rid of all the Information on your old computer. Actually, there are a couple of ways. First, if your computer came with a system recovery disk, put that disk in the computer and run it. Make sure you select the options that delete your files, and it will put the computer back the way it was when you first bought it. Your information will be erased thoroughly enough that the average person (myself included) will not be able to access it, but law enforcement would probably be able to retrieve them. I can’t give you step-by-step instructions because each computer manufacturer creates their own type of system recovery program. If you want your computer

more securely erased, you will need a program that rewrites the entire drive multiple times. I use a free program to do this for my customers who want their hard drives securely erased. It is called Darik’s Boot and Nuke at: http://www.dban.org/ Warning! This is a dangerous program, it securely deletes EVERYTHING on a hard drive. Do not use it unless you are very sure you know what you are doing. Darik’s Boot and Nuke takes several hours to run, and when it is finished there is nothing on the hard drive, not even an operating system. You can then safely give away or donate your computer. If you are not comfortable running the program on your old computers, give me a call. This is a service I provide for my customers. Elizabeth Comments: Posted By: Rita in Response to How To Transfer Photos from Phone Comment: I have a very simple phone. I don’t know if this will work for you, but I simply added my e-mail address to my address book (and identified it as such in my listing). When I receive (or take a photo) that I want to save on my computer, I simple forward it to my e-mail address. It then shows up in an e-mail and I can then copy it to a folder and later edit it, if I desire. Dear Computer Lady, I’ve been a subscriber for more years than I can remember. Just this week I spent well over an hour on the phone with Verizon because my mailbox was full. Full for the first time ever and I’ve been online since the early ’90s!! If only the question by Barbara were a week ago! At any rate, I again applaud you because only you were able to make sense in the solution. Certainly, Verizon didn’t! Another tip saved! Bless you! business & finance sanford Resident Wins bank sweepstakes

SaNFOrd – Sanford resident Susan Ouellette was named winner of a recent iPad sweepstakes held by SIS Bank during the grand open-

ing celebration of its Portsmouth, N.H., branch. Ouellette is donating her prize to the nonprofit organization Grahamtastic Connection. “Our Portsmouth branch

grand opening celebration was a great opportunity to reach out to the community,” said Charlotte Hubbard, market manager of the SIS Portsmouth branch. “The iPad sweepstakes was especially exciting, and even more so because Ms. Ouellette is donating her new iPad to such a wonderful organization. This is one of those rare times when everyone wins.” Grahamtastic Connection,

based in Springvale, Maine, provides laptop and tablet computers to hospitalized children so that they can keep in touch with friends and family, teachers and classmates. “Simply stated, we connect kids when their world is out of reach,” said Leslie Morissette, the organization’s founder. Among the hospitals where Grahamtastic provides services to children are the Wentworth

Douglass Hospital and Dartmouth Children’s Hospital in New Hampshire and the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Maine, along with more than one hundred others regionally and nationwide. For more information on Grahamtastic Connection, go to www.grahamtastic.org.

business & finance Johnson Recognized for service to community and school

WellS – The school committee of the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District recognized the community and school service of one of its employees, Bailey Johnson, at a recent committee meeting. “I have heard a lot of really good comments about how dedicated she is to her job,” said Chairman Russell Fox said of Johnson. “I was really impressed with that.” Fox’s remarks refer, in part, to Johnson’s work as a special education technician in the “Bridges Program” at Wells Junior High School and her extracurricular involvement with the junior high chorus, color guard, parade guard, and the newly created winter guard. Johnson has also provided musical direction for several school musical productions. Fox presented Johnson with a certificate that praised

her efforts for both school and community, including performing at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.” Johnson and Encore, a vocal group she helped to form, have performed at various venues in the Wells area but perhaps most notably at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland. “It was extremely humbling. It came as a total surprise,” noted Johnson of the school committee recognition. “I do what I do because I truly love working with kids and serving others, especially through music and performing. “Of course, I don’t do any of these things for recognition, but I feel very grateful that Mr. Fox and other members of WOCSD took the time to notice what I do and present me with this award.” In the community, Johnson serves is a youth pastor at

Early this year, Johnson and team members of the winter guard in Wells formed a fundraising program called ‘GUARDians’ to raise money and awareness for Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Throughout the winter guard season, audience members at various shows as well as members of the general public were asked

to donate to BBCH through the GUARDians. Johnson said 100 percent of money raised by the GUARDians goes directly to BBCH. Nineteen area businesses supported the work of the GUARDians. “I spent a decent amount of time in a children’s hospital as a kid and I remember feeling so blessed that I wasn’t dealing with the illnesses and conditions that so many of the children around

Maine Games Offering annual National anthem auditions

leWISTON – If you think you possess the right combination of vocal talent and patriotism the Maine Games is looking for you. Whether your are a professional singer, or just someone who sings in the shower, if you love your country and its national anthem, the Maine Games wants you to apply to audition for them and an amazing opportunity. On Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in the Kora Shrine Temple’s ballroom, a panel of judges will be auditioning between 20 and 30 singers for the position of Maine Games National Anthem Vocalist for 2013. This is the seventh year the Maine Games has conducted this statewide search for

the right combination of poise, confidence, vocal talent, and a desire to honor our country with a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at events around the state. This audition which has attracted a wide variety of people between the ages of 10 and 65, from Kittery to Fort Kent. No matter what previous experience you may have had singing in public, if you think you have what it takes, the Maine Games would love to hear your voice, feel your patriotism, and help you share it around the state. Those wishing to apply for this audition must submit an online application which asks one simple question: “What does the Star-Spangled Banner mean

to you?” Based on the response to this short essay, the judges will select between 20 and 30 singers to perform live. The singer chosen to represent the Maine Games as this year’s National Anthem Vocalist will then have a photo-shoot, will schedule a session at Blue Wave Creative’s recording studio in South Portland, and will have a chance to speak with the media. The top three finishers will receive Maine Games gold, silver, or bronze medals. Our runner-up will also be in line to step in if for some reason our anthem vocalist is unable to attend one of the pre-scheduled appearances. Crystal Ryder, the 2012 Maine Games National Anthem

Vocalist and a member of the Maine National Guard, will be one of the judges at this year’s Maine Games National Anthem Audition. ...ALLERGIES from page 19 conditioner and dehumidifier to filter the air coming inside of the house and ensuring it is cool and dry. “Big Surprise!! A great meal” Reviewed March 4, 2012

Not only is this place reasonably priced, along with that you get great atmosphere and wonderful service. The lobster was steamed to perfection, the prime rib was medium rare which was exactly what I ordered and even the homemade mashed potatoes were excellent and I NEVER order potatoes when eating a large meal. We left full and satisfied. Blanche M Hudson, MA

~ arts & entertainment ~ Stage Force launches New Seacoast Theater Venue with ‘Cape May’ KITTerY – On March 29, a new arts and entertainment venue opens its doors to Seacoast audiences with its debut professional theatrical event: Kent Stephens’ Stage Force’s production of “Cape May.” The new space, the Star Theatre, is housed in the recently opened Kittery Community Center, which occupies the former Frisbee School. With 171 seats, state of the art equipment, excellent accessibility and plenty of free parking, the venue is an exciting new addition to the Seacoast arts scene. Stage Force founder Kent Stephens was involved in the creation of the new space, and is pleased to be presenting its first professional theatrical production. “It’s a space that encourages your imagination,” Stephens said. The debut production, “Cape May,” is the poignant, funny and powerful tale of three generations of Irish-American women and their relationship with a summer beach house in New Jersey. Stories from the 1930s to today interweave and intersect across time – and, in a coup-de-theater, the house itself is played by an actor, who also narrates the story and plays all the men who enter the six women’s lives. The author of “Cape May,”

Patricia Lynch, is known locally as the executive director of The Music Hall in Portsmouth, N.H. Lynch is also a nationally recognized playwright with a host of awards and residencies with some of the country’s top companies. She is also married to Stephens, and the pair has a long history of collaborating on a wide range of theatrical projects. “Cape May” features Kristan Curtis, Rebecca Rudolf, Whiney Smith, Susan Poulin, Christine Penney and CJ Lewis. It will be performed at the Star Theatre from March 29 through April 7. Shows will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 30, and a 4 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 7. Tickets are $27-$32. Star Theatre is located at 120 Rogers Road, Kittery. Tickets are available now at KitteryCommunityCenter.org, or in person at the welcome desk during normal business hours. SOuTH BerWICK – The Marshwood High School students on stage may not have been alive yet, but about 60 teens in the cast and crew of “Disco Inferno” will bring the music of the ’70s back to life with a play that features a dozen songs from that era. “Disco Inferno,” set in the summer of 1976, is loosely based on the story of Faust. The play, based on a book written by Justin Sepple, is about an aspiring musician who wants to

be famous so badly he is willing to sell his soul. Jack meets Lady Marmalade, who leads him down the path to moral ruin, as he realizes success is not all it’s cracked up to be. After he becomes an international success, his only wish is to return to his former life and love. “When I found this show I knew it would be a great fit to showcase our Marshwood students.” said Tanya West, musical director for the show, which

another Chance animal rescue

NOrTH BerWICK – Meet Yumyum…a 10-month-old spayed female with a silky black coat. My two sisters were both adopted but no one has wanted me because I walk funny. I had a tail pull injury months ago and I still walk with a little crouch, but otherwise I’m perfectly healthy. I’m not as rambunctious as some kitties but I can run and play and I really like lots of love from humans. I get along well with other cats but could also be happy as an only cat. My foster home is nice but I need a real home of my own where I can relax and be part of the family. I hope you’ll come meet me seen on Saturday during our adoption hours or you may contact my foster mom, Lynn, at 676-5767 or

We also have a number of dogs looking for loving homes. Adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and by appointment during the week. Location: 37 Market St. in the village of North Berwick. Thrift Store Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, other hours “by chance” All profits benefit the animals in our care. Donations of items are always welcomed.

Safe Haven Humane Society WellS – This Sunday is Easter. Please join us at China Bistro, Route 1, York, for a delicious Chinese buffet, including Easter ham, from noon to 7 p.m. Pay $10.95 for all you can eat – and Safe Haven receives 50 percent of the proceeds. For more information: 361-4388. Last Saturday was a fantastic adoption day for Safe Haven. Three “special” kitties went to new homes. Misty, a 21-year-old kitty was adopted through our “assisted adoption” program. Licka, a longterm resident of The Budget Box (St. David’s Thrift Shop), was adopted by someone preparing to retire and wanting a friend. And Betsy, who’s pregnant, went to a lovely young couple who will foster her through her pregnancy, then adopt her after her babies are weaned. Each situation was unique and special, making Saturday a joyful one. One of our greatest rewards is meeting the caring people who adopt from us. Because we are no-kill, we have taken in many kitties who are older or shy or on special meds.

All three need special people to adopt them. We are happy to work with these people during and after the adoption to ensure each cat is homed for life in a loving environment. To enable people to adopt special needs kitties, our “Assisted Adoption” program pays for the medical needs of each kitty’s unique medical condition, as long as the adopter takes the kitty to our vet. Many people want to adopt a special needs kitty but are afraid of the medical bills. We remove that worry, because the most important thing is that the kitty be adopted into a loving home. If you love tabbies, you’ll admire the beauty of Pinstripe (in photo), a neutered male, and Chewie, a spayed female. This brother-sister pair have adorable faces and gorgeous brown and black stripes. At about 9 months old, they are still very active and silly, and love being part of the action. Both Pinstripe and Chewie will be at our Adoption Center this Saturday, March 30, and hope to meet you there. These kittens love doing everything with you. In their foster home they’ve been incredible helpers. They especially love to help fold laundry. They need a home that’s organized enough to ensure they don’t jump into the washing machine, refrig-

Playing with toys, walking, running, bounding about outdoors, all things Mason enjoys and would love to do with people in a new home. Mason has been getting a lot of praise from our volunteer dog walkers. Elizabeth called him “very smart,” Bruce noted that he “likes long walks,” and Malte found that when spending time with him, Mason “appreciates the attention.” Mason has even been doing well learning to master commands like “sit” and “down.” He has a friendly demeanor

and would be happy to share a new home with other dogs and active children. If you’d like to adopt Mason, then stop on by the shelter today to meet him. Julie Meet Julie, a darling 10-year-old short-haired cat. As you might expect from an older cat, Julie likes to spend a lot of time relaxing and curling up on a sunny windowsill. Granted, that’s what cats of any age do, but Julie tends to do so more often. Julie might be a little cautious when meeting new people, but a little gentle petting will warm her right up. She would love to find a new home with plenty of windows she can watch the world from, cozy spots to nap in, and lots of treats to munch on. She would especially like the latter paired with a regular diet, as she could stand to put on a few pounds. Julie would be a comforting and mellow addition to practically any home. If you’d like to adopt Julie, then stop on in today to meet her. Thumb Looking for a friendly, cuddly, active, little critter to add to your home? They love the smell of toothpaste and are experts at swiping food off your plate. They’re now enrolled in manner school, but it isn’t working. So if you’re interested in these two darlings, be sure you have a great sense of humor, are quick on your feet and are ready for lots of laughs.

When he gets exercise time out of his cage, Thumb will scamper all over the room, making sure to inspect everything he comes across. This fellow is certainly no slouch. Thumb would love to find a new home where he’ll gets lots cuddling, plenty of things to inspect, room to romp about when out of his cage, and, of course, a steady stream of treats. Thumb would be a great addition to most any home. If you think Thumb is just right for you, then stop on by today to meet him. Mother-daughter art Show to Open at Wells library

WellS – An exhibition by motherand-daughter artists Nancy Robinson and Rebecca Bagley will open with a free reception on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to noon at Wells Public Library, 1434 Post Road. Refreshments will be provided, and the artists will answer questions. The art will remain on display for the month of April.

Robinson and Bagley are mother and daughter artists who have both found inspiration in Nancy’s father, Gordon Robinson, a locally renowned artist whose legacy is a myriad of works and the talent he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Robinson’s art is a realist’s depiction of local scenery. Through her many years

of practice, she has refined her technique and ability to capture the feeling of Maine’s beautiful and sometimes harsh landscape, as well as the lives of its inhabitants. Bagley attended Norwich University where she majored in architecture and minored in art. She currently co-owns The Tourist Trap in Wells, where local artists and crafts-

men have a variety of work on display, as well as Studio E, a small residential design firm in Westbrook. The exhibition will be sponsored by the Friends of the Wells Public Library. For more information, please contact library assistant Kayla Thompson at the library: 207-646-8181 or e-mail kthompson@wellstown.org.
