“Splash into Spring” Returns to Ogunquit OGUNQUIT The Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off the 2022 season with its second annual “Splash into Spring” celebration. Splash events celebrate spring by focusing on sustainability in honor of Earth Day, local craft, art and theatre, and wellness activities to help get everyone ready for the summer. The celebration kicks off on Saturday, April 23, and extends through the second weekend of May, providing three weekends of fun activities for all ages in Ogunquit.
The Patriotic Pooch Pageant is just one feature of Splash into Spring.
Opening weekend features the Splash into Spring artisan craft fair at the Ogunquit Fire Station. More than thirty crafters will be displaying and selling
their locally made treasures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24. Another feature of opening weekend is sand drawing with Sebastian on Saturday, courtesy of the Ogunquit Parks & Recreation committee. Join this talented artist on Main Beach as he shows you how to make beautiful large-scale drawings in the sand from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The annual Patriotic Pooch Pageant returns on Sunday, April 24, beginning at 12 p.m. in the Ogunquit Village School
Playground, located adjacent to the Fire Station and Dunaway Center. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Dress your dog in costume, or just come and watch the antics of our four-legged friends. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Most Patriotic Pup and Favorite American. You can also pose for a free caricature of you and your furry friend drawn by local artist Michael Lynch, who will be at the playground from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Headlining the art-themed weekend of April 30 is the Ogunquit Playhouse’s 90th birthday
party on Saturday at 3 p.m., featuring music, food trucks, a Cher impersonator, beer and wine tastings, and, of course, birthday cake. On Sunday, May 1, the Ogunquit Museum of American Art celebrates its opening day. Wellness activities round out the festivities on Saturday, May 7, featuring the Southern Maine AIDS Walk Your Way 5K on Main Beach, to benefit the Frannie Peabody Center, beginning at 12 p.m. Free beach yoga and a bike-and-beer meet-up are
